    #14 is a bit too low, BA has the Sox system at #9, a #11 is more realistic one.

    Hetzler at #38 is incredible, he is border line that he will make the Sox minor league teams.

    The Red Sox have released the following minor leaguers; Dominicans Jose Marte LHP, Rafael Vargas RHP, Neylin Morel RHP, Venezuelan Willian Alvarez catcher, Colombian Braulio Batista RHP and Panamanian Paul Flores. They played in the Sox 2006 DSL team except Marte which may be the biggest surprised of this group, Marte is a tall 19 yrs who throws a 92-93 fastball but has big time issues with control.

    Ellsbury isn' in the 40 man roster, but you could bet your morgage loan that he is going to play as many ML games as if he would be in the 40 man roster.

    Bosox; Let me ask you a question, if you where a ML pitcher would pitch to Manny if the next two hitters behind him where Lowell and Youkilis?

    According to BA the Sox have signed the following minor league free agents; Short Stop Scott Youngbauer, outfielder Jamal Strong and Catcher Dennis Anderson. Younbauer is 28 yrs 6-1 170 switch hitter, Strong is 28 yrs R/R 5-10 180, Anderson is 29 yrs 6-0 200 switch hitter. Youngbauer and Strong played in AAA and Anderson played in independent league.

    First of all i believe that Chamberlain weight problem was in 2004 or 2005 just before he got to Nebraska U not in 2006. I have seen Bard pitch in college and while i haven't seen Chaberlain pitch have talk to people who has and while Chambarlain might hit mid 90's isn't on a consistent basis, Bard does on a regular basis, Chambarlain's stuff and Bard's aren't as close as you might think, its Bard's hands down.

    I am going to disagree with you again, Bard is a better prospect than Chambarlain and in top of that doesn't have the health issues that Chambarlain has, that's why he went as low as he did.

    Jackson, Kennedy doesn't belong on this group, kennedy stuff its just ordinary.

    Going into the 2007 season Buchholz is #1, Bowden is #2 and Bard is #3, but projection wise Buchholz project to be a #2, Bowden a #2 or #3 and Bard a #1.

    Bard is just a high maintenace pitcher.

    I agree that Helton isn't the answer, at this time for at least the first half of the season you have to go with Youkilis and perhaps Pena, but unless Pena can handle the position it doesn't means that there is a weakness in the line up.

    While you where very disrespectfull in your respose to my post, let me tell you decent means average and none of those players where average, they where compliment players but not average players. One more thing having a love afair with Youkilis like this isn't healthy.

    According to BA John Deeble who will be Lowell manager in 2007 isn't any longer the Australian and the Pacific Rim scout.

    Fried, The key word is decent, with a contending team like with the Sox no one is expecting to have a decent player, you will find those type of players in non contending teams.

    LOL. Tim Cox is a border line top 50 prospect and Doubront is a top 15 prospect.

    I am hoping that Pena may play more first base than many expects and Youkilis could come in for defense, that would be a better role for Youkilis. The point of moving Youkilis to third base next year doesn't make sense, by doing that they will moving their problem at first base to third base. If the Sox decides not to bring lowell back for 2008 and Spann shows in 2007 that he is ready for the ML he will be a better answer, Spann is more athletic, better range and potentially better power.

    That is a bit low for Richardson and too high for Daeges. I heard that Scout.com doesn't have Carlos Fernandez among the Sox top 50 prospects, if thats true this list is a joke.

    Actually Youkilis played 44 games and 79 at bats in 2005, not enough to get a book on him. If Youkilis could play a middle position a high OBP would be great, but he play a production position and don't produce enough.

    There are too many question on the Sox pen going into Spring training, If i was a betting man would bet that the Sox's pen would have different names in August than at the start of the season.
