  1. They never click at the same time. THey both suck. Besides Ortiz and Manny, the offense sucks.
  2. Our team sucks. 0-16 with RISP. Yeah, I think there is plenty of blame to go around. I am going to commit suicide.
  3. This is a grand time for everyone to suck as much as possible. YAY! If only we could've gotten this out of our system earlier. Luckily, we now know what the bottom feels like.
  4. Here we go again, the plate disappears completely. Hey TITO, let me pitch! I probably can throw it over the plate if you want, unlike these clowns.
  5. Just ignore him. He doesn't understand anything about baseball, and the situation the Sox are in. It is obvious a lot of people don't like a700 hitter, just ignore him. I have writen up so many rebuttals to his idiotic posts, but I don't like to argue with challenged people, that is just messed up. Yo, a700hitter, the Red Sox aren't the Yankees, we can't just shell out 15 million when we want to. Sorry. Getting Abreu wouldn't have been a stupid move. It would've handicapped us for next year, and leave us with a bad staff, again. It would have just created a log jam. RF, besides DH, LF and closer is the position we least need to fix right now. It sounds like you like the wrong team. You whine too much. Maybe you should find a new team. Do you have a long term memory, or the ability to look at the long term? Do you understand anything about money? No. Wow. Damon is having 3 good days. He still won't be worth 14 million dollars for the next three years. That money can be better spent. Pedro, well, it's nice to see he is dominating the NL, not the AL, but the NL. It is also nice to see him on the bench. Call me a FO apologist if you want, but you have unrealistic expectations.
  6. Hinske sucks vs. lefties, and I guess Tito felt like giving Cokes a day off. Good inning boys. Now Beckett needs to maintain the lead.
  7. What a piece of s***. Why Mirabelli isn't catching Beckett is mind boggling. Beckett had his best outing recently with Belli behind the plate. Javy isn't able to catch a headcase like this. I could pitch better than this guy if I had his stuff.
  8. I think Lester is way over his head in the majors. He was rushed up way too soon, and it is affecting him. I think some more time in AAA would help. This could hinder his career big time. He needs to get some control back, and some confidence. Going down to AAA would help a lot. But it doesn't really matter now. The damage is done. So I guess he might as well stay up.
  9. Yay! We replace one horrible reliever with another horrible reliever. I'd almost take Seanez over Van Buren, and certainly take him over Tavarez. But whatever.
  10. Not if he can't get the ball over the plate. He still should be in AAA. He looks nervous at times, and has horrid control. The fact that his ERA isn't like 9 is just a testament to what kind of stuff he has. But he can't get it over the plate, which basically negates any "stuff" he does have. Right now, both are toss-ups. I don't think Ponson is that much worse than Lester. In a year or two it will be a different story, but not now. Neither should be in the majors right now. Plus, we had Ponson beat. Too bad we have no bullpen.
  11. Beckett looks like Lester today. Does the home plate shrink when the Red Sox pitchers pitch? It just seems like they can't ever get the ball over it. Lets get a quick lead. Randy...
  12. Honestly, A-rod is the man. I love him.
  13. Anyone interested in joining a real gm fantasy basketball league. Basically, you take over a team, draft college players, cut players to stay under the cap, make trades, go after big name free agents and make roster decisions every day of the year. It is basically just a mega-realistic fantasy league, where you are the GM, coach and everything else. Once the season starts, we'll set up a league on yahoo, and scoring will be done from there. If you are interested, check out the site. We have about 6-8 slots open. It should be a successful and active league, the MLB league has run very smoothly. http://www.zerogravitysports.com/realGM/index.php There is also a hockey, nfl, and mlb league, although there are very few slots open for those. The NBA league is just starting up. Go to the site, check out the rules, sign up. We were planning on drafting this week, but we had to postpone it. We will draft as soon as we fill the few remaining slots. Thanks.
  14. Nah, he didn't break it. It was Sproles. LT is fine.
  15. His grandma passed away. He'll be back to pitch on Monday.
  16. I think it is actually this... Game 1: Jason Johnson vs Chien-Ming Wang... Edge NY, by a lot Game 2: Jonathan Lester vs Sidney Ponson... Edge Boston, by a little Game 3: Joshua Beckett vs Randall Johnson...Edge...who knows. Could be 0-0, could be 10-10 Game 4: Curtis Schilling vs Michael Mussina...even Game 5: David Wells vs Cory Lidle... Edge Boston Lidle is starting game 5. Wright won't start on 4 days rest. Should be a great series. There are a lot of even matchups.
  17. I think they'll make it, some how. There is plenty of ball left, and they are just 2 games out of the East and WC. They'll get healthy, and start pitching better. It just can't get worse than it has been. I think they will go on a roll soon. Plus, I still have faith in the pen and the rotation. I think they'll straighten it out. But there is no way in hell they win the WS. Their pitching can't ever be that good.
  18. Everyone hits better with the bases loaded. The pitchers have to throw strikes, and if they fall behind, they really have to groove some pitches. I would say almost every batter hits .030 or so higher with the bases loaded. It is a very favorable situation for batters.
  19. Boomer the stopper, or as much of a stopper as we have. I was impressed though. He made a few mistakes, and they capitalized. But all in all, good outing.
  20. Come on Boomer. Only 80+ pitches. Take it into the 8th please. That, along with an off day would be huge for the pen going into the Yankee series. BTW, Coco has been playing great lately, maybe he just needed some reassurement, and being placed in the lead off spot again gave him a boost of confidence, and performance. I do like him leading off and Youks providing some protection.
  21. That's why I like what Timlin did, he called out the team. They lack the motivators like Millar. I love what he did. Maybe he will give them life. And I agree, we are scared to have a lead bosox21. Maybe they just like to make comebacks, and fail most of the time.
  22. As has everyone else not named Pena...
  23. Must win. I don't think many games in August are must wins, but this is damned close. If we go into the Yankee series 4.5 out...well, that would just suck. A win would be really really really nice, and maybe give us some momentum into the next 5 games. Verlander will be tough though. He did have a bad outing last time out, but he is great. Let's f***ing win.
  24. I like what he did. He called out his team. Everyone is sucking. Everyone. I think they are dogging it a little. I think it is still too loose of a club house, and people for the most part are slacking. Everything is OK. The fans will cheer you no matter what, Tito won't call you out, nor will anyone else. This is good. Maybe it will fire up his team. He is calling out the underachievers. What he said is true, so why is it shocking, or wrong? Wily should pick it up, sometimes his head isn't in the right place. There is no excuse for errors like some of the ones he has mad. I am sure Timlin is still a little upset, and it will wear off, but still... The offense has let down good pitching. The only games they have won recently are games in which they've scored 8 or more runs. When we do get a decent outing, we don't score enough runs. The offense and pitching never click at the same time. And I am sure Varitek makes a big difference. It is no secret. Mirabelli and Lopez would say the same thing. This shouldn't destroy the team, unless they are a bunch of little A-rods. This team needs a fire lit under their asses. Mike Timlin.
  25. I'd be rooting for the Rockies, Angels and Twins...but they might all also miss out on it. I think one of them will get in. If not, I am actually going to root for the Mets.
