  1. The grounder to Nunez that "pulled Tex off the bag" directly led to a run. And Girardi not pitching around Bautista who has absolutely killed us this yr directly cost us all the runs. His avg vs NY this yr is .375 and he's hit 6 homers.
  2. I've watched almost all of his starts. It isnt about "dominance", it's about numbers.
  3. victims of poor umpiring and ridiculously stupid managerial decisions
  4. You're essentially fighting against yourself here. 1. Based on GO/AO, he is below average. Based on ORS's numbers, he's barely above average. Regardless, if you dont consider him a major groundball pitcher, then his BABIP is pretty relevant. 2. If he is a major groundball pitcher, THEN, you would expect his BAA to be much higher since a groundball has a better chance of being a hit than a flyball. Regardless, they all point to two things... 1. Buchholz has been incredibly lucky 2. Lester's peripherals are essentially the same when you look at WHIP and since Buch has been incredibly lucky this yr, then you have to take Lester's numbers. Regardless, we're arguing semantics right now. I think Lester is a better pitcher and his season from last yr was fantastic. I would take a guy with a 1.20 WHIP, 200IP and 225K over a guy who isnt going to reach 200IP, is a contact pitcher, and is lucky
  5. Okay, he's barely above league average. Regardless, his peripherals are not as good as Lester's were last yr and his BABIP is way down. This likely means he isnt as good as his ERA suggests, which I dont think many people would doubt.
  6. Good to see Ramiro Pena being heads up. Hit and Run, you need to locate the ball.
  7. He's below average in the groundball category.
  8. That's how I played and that's how I'll teach my kids to play once they are old enough to actually control where they throw the ball.
  9. I think I only intentionally hit 3 or 4 people when I pitched, and I think all but one hit the guy in the butt. But I would definitely throw the ball eye level to a batter who dug in too much, but I wouldnt try to hit them. You never throw it behind the hitter's head, because the natural reaction is to back up and you'll back right into it. But throwing it above the head or in front of the head is message enough
  10. YS, do you feel any remorse when Beckett goes high and tight? How bout when you had Pedro and he'd go high and tight on a regular basis?
  11. 7 baserunners in 5.1IP. 1 of them was a blown call by the ump, 1 was an infield single, 1 was a walk, 2 were dribblers up the middle. Only two balls were hit well. Good start for the kid
  12. WTF Girardi? You pull Nova after an IF single with only 73 pitches thrown?
  13. I f***ing love this kid. Homerun from Bautista, next AB he goes under the chin, then walks towards him as Bautista is mouthing off. f***ing awesome
  14. Are the streams flammable?
  15. My nail in the coffin comment came after Youk was lost for the season, IIRC
  16. I actually do have a vacation planned
  17. where's the part about Clay being a true groundball pitcher? The league average is in the 1.4 range for GO/AO. Buch is at 1.1
  18. I picked the sox as the WC winner in the preseason.
  19. This home plate ump has been horrible. He has a disappearing outside corner. Meaning, he calls it when he wants to, it has no rhyme or reason. Sometimes its there, sometimes it isnt. Man he sucks
