  1. You guys should probably trust me on this medical thing. I kinda know what I'm doing
  2. Manny Banuelos has been promoted to AAA
  3. He has to have a backup plan. Bedard is just as concerning, IMO, and will probably cost more than Harden since he's thrown 90+IP this yr. I am guessing Guthrie will end up on one of our teams
  4. I had heard the PTBNL was Brandon Workman, who is a big, tall righty with a solid arm who was drafted last yr. He's not a prize prospect since he's struggling a bit in the low minors, but he's still a guy with a lot of talent who you dont give up on for a guy who you think wont be able to get through the next 8 weeks
  5. I am not confident with Garcia. The sox are a disciplined enough team not to chase his s*** out of the zone. When he comes into the zone, he gets bombed. Colon has been solid and he did pitch pretty well vs the sox earlier this yr. CC is a beast. Hughes wont be in the rotation come playoffs. Burnett is Burnett. He could throw a gem or he could get bombed. He's rarely inbetween. Would I rather have a guy who is more a sure thing? Yes, I would. But we have enough to win out there currently. And if the package the Rox wanted for Ubaldo really was Montero, Nova, and Banuelos, then we were better off going without
  6. I think the sox win the division, but the sox are also the streakiest team in baseball. They're just as likely to win 10 in a row as they are to lose 9 out of 15 or so. The Yanks have been consistent. Not too many long winning streaks, not too many long losing streaks, winning series or tying them by the handful.
  7. It was a matter of time in April. He still hasnt collapsed, so if you hope in one hand and s*** in another, my guess is you'll end up with a handful of s***. Garcia has been good, a lot better than expected. Burnett has been better but still is Burnett and we have CC. Our rotation isnt amazing, but it's been getting it done this yr
  8. or starters who have been better than anything you guys are throwing out there sans Beckett and Lester
  9. If the PTNBL is Workman, then this is a good deal for both sides. Beane can continue his fascination with corner IFers who can take a pitch but have limited power and the sox can get an insurance policy in their rotation. Workman hasnt been great, but he has a big league arm and was just drafted last yr. He's the prize of this deal if he works out
  10. If the sox are dealing for Harden, they're giving away at least 1 prospect with a big league future.
  11. Nova quietly throwing a very strong game and showing the ability to strike guys out, something he showed after his demotion. 6IP 6H 2ER 1BB 6K. This should open up Hughes slot for him. He's got the stuff.
  12. I would love to see Guthrie in pinstripes, but I highly doubt these two franchises work on a deal together
  13. Lets see. Kuroda is off the table. Bedard looked AWFUL in his return last night. Ubaldo just got dealt. Garza and Shields arent moving. Harden is probably the best starter still available with almost a full day to go to the deadline. He wont give him away unless he has to at the last minute. If he gets what he thinks is right tonight, he'll deal him
  14. In a health contest, I think Harden might beat Bedard by a hair
  15. I wont be a hypocrite here. I think getting Harden is a good move. So if the Yankees get him, I'd be stoked. If the sox get him for peanuts, I'll be a little pissed
  16. Because right now he's healthy. And when he's healthy, he's good.
  17. See, that is the kind of move I could see the Yanks doing. Surprised we arent in on that. A guy like Harden or Bedard is all we really need. We have a rotation right now that is 5th in the AL in ERA and 1st of any AL team outside of the AL West (which is really a National League division offensively). If we got a high upside guy who could be a #2 if healthy, then that's all we need
  18. They need a 50 caliber painkiller and put them out of their misery
  19. The Rockies negotiating tactics may not be very fair, but the haul they received prior to the 4th player was impressive.
