  1. you sent all of us a pic of your brains, do you think that bothers me at all? You think it's funny to post someone who's been scalped? You're a true low life who likely will end up being a miscreant with no drive in life. You'll probably spend some time inbetween jail, rehab, and being homeless. Your mother will finally give up on you and one of these days, you'll OD in the street. The problem is, you'll knock up a few junkies before you die and their useless lives will continue to pollute the world like you are. It's a sad cycle. I am sure you are already familiar with the words Narcan and Dual Bed. If you are, then my prediction is on the right track.
  2. and still make the postseason. By the way, I could use someone to clean my house. You willing to make $5 an hour?
  3. Granderson will be back in the first week of May, so by sensationalizing his loss, they are misrepresenting his absence
  4. Cervelli has one last chance. He'd been a great defensive catcher in the minors, but when he got to the show, he couldn't throw to second, it was a mental issue. Cervelli can hit a little bit too. Stewart is a strong defensive catcher with no stick at all. The guy who will finish the season as our starting catcher is Romine. But due to the options game, he'll probably start the yr in AAA
  5. Posada was a much bigger part of our offense than Martin was. Posada was coming off a season where he hit .330
  6. And in that year they lost their catcher, starting LFer and ace for the SEASON
  7. He'll be back in May, but we're looking at a pretty rocky April. The pitching is going to have to step up
  8. a700, it depends on the lefty. Dead pull guys won't get that treatment. Also, while the 2b does pinch a little towards the middle, typically the 1b isn't holding the runner which covers some of the pull hole.
  9. Pedro had the perfect mix for Boston. He took his lumps in Montreal, learned how to pitch and how to act. He added to that by having some of the nastiest stuff on planet earth. There are guys who have his fastball, change, and curve combo but they don't have the "f*** You" attitude of Pedro and aren't as successful. Pedro was a throwback in a time where players all intermingle and are buddies off the diamond. He didn't give a s*** who you were when he pitched. He'd buzz the tower, buzz you again then strike you out in the same AB. You will not see another pitcher like him again
  10. They said he was going to look like Urlacher during his prime. This is a little early, but so be it. Bulking up might actually decrease his worth, though
  11. Yeah, but the dodgers have locked themselves into a ton of money. If they decide to go after every $150 mil + FA on a yearly basis, they'll eventually reach their own internal limit.
  12. I think Cano has a shot at the Tex contract if he agrees to renegotiate now. I think being contracted through his age 37 season is all he's going to get. 10 yrs is no longer a feasible request.
  13. http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/8968271/new-york-yankees-hal-steinbrenner-shows-spirit-boss And it looks like the financials arent making sense for them to stay under the lux tax anymore with 3 more teams not expected to be eligible for revenue sharing, hence the revenue sharing rebate will be lower and their loss of revenue will be significant.
  14. He's 30, just turned it. But your other sentiments are true. That being said, I doubt he's getting $25 mil per yr for 8 yrs. He might get $25 mil for 6 yrs, especially if the Yankees are willing to rip up 2013's deal which calls for only $15 million. I bet Boras is looking for a Tex type deal if he's gonna go 8 yrs, though. Somewhere in the vicinity of $23 mil per yr if he goes out that long. I bet he's going to sign for 6yrs $150 mil but AFTER 2013. Regardless, if he does that, we're looking at 3 prime yrs and 3 yrs of decline, which would suck with Sabathia, ARod and Tex still on payroll and in decline during Robby's first yr on the decline
  15. Pena would have been a good signing at the same age. The issue is that Pena was acquired for a similarly valuable pitcher
  16. They adjusted it to 2 weeks. It isnt that out of the ordinary. 90% of disc bulges are treated with conservative management, only 10% require injections or surgery. For you and I, this injury would still bother us for 2-4 weeks, for those who are exposed to world class PT, it could be sooner. I bet they have him on a mound throwing softly come the second week of March. That will be the biggest test, IMO. If he gets back on the mound and his pain is minimal, then he'll resume standard activities. If he is still in pain come mid March, then he's in trouble. He's in a contract yr, so my guess is he is gonna try to gut this out
  17. Marrero is a guy who they drafted because he has a low floor. He can play solid defense, he has no real power to speak of and might end up as a gap power guy at his best. He's never shown a lick of patience in either the collegiate or professional levels, so thus far his plate discipline isnt anything to write home about. He's very fast and can handle the bat well. He's a long ways off though, so I'd wait until you see what you're getting come mid season this yr in the long season leagues
  18. He forgot to add sky is falling to the end of the tweet
  19. He's a value pickup akin to Jeremy Giambi and David Ortiz circa 2003. Lots of power, pretty pedestrian production. If they can manage to unlock some of his potential, he could be an all star caliber player. If they do not and he continues to be mind numbingly inconsistent, then he'll be off the roster come May
  20. Mike Carp for a PTBNL. I like this move from a sox standpoint. Kinda bummed the Yankees didn't pursue him. Big power that was thwarted in SafeCo. No patience shown at the big league level, but in a much larger sample size in the minors, he's shown a great eye. He's a value addition with no risk and the potential for big rewards
  21. Hughes has a bulging disc in his back and will be set back for a week.
  22. I also wouldnt be shocked if Aceves starts the yr in the rotation for that same reason. Doubront came in fat and started with some shoulder fatigue. They are going to treat him like a newborn baby and if he isnt firing mid 90s heat come April 1, he's going to be on the DL. I think 2013 will be the yr of value for Boston and moving Aceves into the rotation will boost his value tremendously. He was a very good starter in the minors for us, but his stamina was an issue. If he can just give 2 months worth of positive starts, he could bring back a lot in trade. I also think this is the yr Jon Lester gets traded. I said it first!!
  23. If Cherries decides to take this team into the value direction, now is not the time to move him. Who cares if he is a cancer for the first 2 months of the yr, the sox aint winning a thing this yr. If Aceves goes out, acts like an ass, but pitches to a 2.00ERA through 30IP for April and May, then he's got value and will likely bring something back. If you deal him now, you're getting more Brent Lillibridge's back that you dont need
  24. Aceves got an inflated sense of who he was in NY in 2009. He was a key cog in our pen when we won a title. From there, I think he got a little entitled, hurt himself in 2010 and acted like a prick and got released. He re-established himself in 2011 with the sox and got entitled enough to act like a prick again in 2012. He seems like a guy who needs to be kicked a few times to be good or else he thinks he's awesome and demands attention
  25. per rotoworld, Aceves' agent was given the first warning shot, no more antics will be tolerated from Aceves
