  1. Movement or no, pitches belt high down the middle need to be parked. We missed them. Then, he hit his spots and wasn't hittable
  2. I didn't think Buch was very solid in his first few innings either. We just weren't hitting him. Lots of pitches over the middle.
  3. The guy is having a bad game. Otherwise, he's dynamite
  4. Yeah, but he had Gardner, hung the breaking ball, cut the ball off on a play that would have seen Romine gunned out by plenty, then threw the ball into CF. Masterson fell apart mentally there. Regardless, it is surprising to see this team start to hit good pitching
  5. Any fan rooting for the Pacers who is not from Indy or San Antonio is rooting for the equivalent of the death penalty for the NBA. The NBA has slowly rebuilt their credibility and their standing in the sports pantheon. Nothing will decimate that more than the snooze-fest an Indy-Spurs finals would be. It would rate lower than most anything else on TV
  6. Nice AB by Gardner there. Masterson just unraveled completely
  7. Pettitte will give a better season than Nuno. We all know this. I like Nuno and think he will be a useful big leaguer one day, but lets not get ahead of ourselves here.
  8. Tex does look like his timing has improved, though. He just pulled foul that high heater off Masterson. It's going to take some time, but at least the clock is moving now
  9. Because Wells cannot hit the broad side of a barn and we needed to do something since we sent Boesch to AAA.
  10. Pettitte ran out of gas in the 5th. He's definitely not sharp. Regardless, a grounder to 3b that ate up Adams cost us the lead. It's good to see Tex hit one out, but that doesn't mean h's fully back. A few yrs ago, he took Verlander deep in game 1 then went on a 30 day slump
  11. People dislike Salty because he's an abysmal defensive catcher. And for a purely offensive minded catcher, you'd want better production that what he has given thus far in his sox career. His OPS thus far this yr is passable, but as his prior seasons show, he typically fades late. He's a no D, power hitter with no OBP skills and a K rate that makes Dave Kingman proud. The sox would be better off with Lavarnway
  12. Last mock has the Yankees selecting Jagielo, Kaminsky, and Denney. If they got that haul, I'd be frickin ecstatic
  13. BTW, Jonathan Gray tested positive for Adderal. It wont affect his draft stock apparently
  14. You guys love me, apparently. I'm flattered. No idea why it still had me viewing the thread, I was asleep
  15. And Nix K's on a pitch that was obviously going to be a strike. Jesus Christ. Well, good night all. I have a feeling all the sox fans will be going home happy. Big rut right now.
  16. What gets me is that we are making Buchholz look better than his stuff dictated today. He's obviously been a revelation this season, but he's left a fair amount of pitches out over the plate that we're either taking or missing. Then, we beat the 2 seamer into the ground and let Iglesias get some work at 3b.
  17. This team cannot f***ing hit. And everyone is touting Iglesias hitting, he just has a hard on when he faces pinstripes. He's hitting .500 vs NY
  18. I am not going to pretend that Romine hasn't been a complete and utter failure thus far at the dish. He has. Stewart isn't a slugger either, though.
  19. Stewart has been awful defensively of late. Romine has at least been good on that end. I am looking forward to Cervelli returning. He gives us more than these two guys have to this point
  20. I was throwing my daughters bday party, so I didn't watch a lot of the game. But in the early going, we had Doubront up against it and continued to let him off the hook. After the first 4 innings when he allowed 8 runners to reach base, he locked it down for his final 2.
  21. Looks like we got our s*** pushed in last night. Why oh why are we the only team that can't hit Doubront?
  22. Because he's getting $5 mil per yr through 2014
  23. I have a feeling it will be a battle of the pens tomorrow.
  24. We'll be ahead in the L column tomorrow.
