  1. Fx we have lights out relievers. I think this moves Frazier to AAA as injury insurance. Stanton and Gardner will play a fair amount in LF, Hicks and Gardner will split CF and Stanton and Judge will split RF. All 4 will rotate through the DH spot. You’ll have rotations as follows LF Gardner CF Hicks RF Judge DH Stanton LF Stanton CF Hicks RF Judge DH Gardner LF Stanton CF Gardner RF Judge DH Hicks LF Gardner CF Hicks RF Stanton DH Judge
  2. Guys, they’re tanking. Their farm is abysmal and they’re trying to do something about it. They’re going the way of the Astros
  3. I didn’t think his contract was all that crazy, but hey, I’ll take it
  4. This lineup is stupid
  5. We will rotate Gardner, Hicks, Judge, and Stanton through the DH spot.
  6. Guzman is one of our top 10 guys, but thus far isn’t in any top 100s
  7. No, Guzman is a good prospect. Devers is a lottery ticket. Castro was expendable. This deal is a steal
  8. It does sound like we’re losing a good prospect though. I’m hearing Jorge Guzman is one of the 2 prospects. Scout had him at #4 on our list. Hard throwing 22 yr old who dominated SS A ball. He tops out over 100mph
  9. The Marlins are taking on $30 mil as well. Holy s***.
  10. This adds $16 mil to or salary for 2018, this leaves us open to adding a pitcher. Our 2b will end up as Torres even though it may start off being Wade and Torreyes. We are stacked with minor leaguers and this sounds like a deal without a major investment from a prospect perspective
  11. OPS over 1.000, WAR of 6.9. Yeah, he’s damn good. BA isn’t everything
  12. Castro plus B level prospects for Stanton. Castro’s contract comes along with $9 mil AAV. This adds $14 mil to our salary. We have more cash available too
  13. And it opens a spot for Torres. Castro was trade bait the minute the season ended. This works for me!
  14. Yes!!!! This lineup will be deadly
  15. This is really picking up steam. Getting a 7 WAR player who can drop 60 bombs in his prime is rare. Having 2 of them in the same lineup is unheard of. Also, our team DH stats from 2017 were unbelievably bad. Stanton comes in and we can rotate an OFer through the DH slot on a daily basis, allowing everyone a chance to rest on the regular. That is when we aren’t using the DH spot for Sanchez who will likely occupy the position 20-30 times in 2018. We essentially take a minus WAR position and turn it positive by 7 and this team just got more deadly. I hope it happens. I am hearing Castro being used as trade bait. That’s fine by me. I had said in the original post that I though we needed to move him. We have the top prospect in baseball waiting, so it can be a good transition. If we need to get him more time we have Torreyes who can fill in or we can give Tyler Wade a shot as he demolished AAA pitching yet struggled in a cameo that didn’t feature good playing time.
  16. Don’t worry about it, we’ll take him!
  17. Yankees in advanced talks for Stanton. Deal close “if not done”. Here’s to hoping!
  18. reading comp would help. My bad. Tired eyes I guess
  19. There will be more of us when the rivalry kicks up this year. I anticipate a big Yankee-Sox season in 2018. I also help root out the trolls from my brethren. This is akin to my daily life. I'm a NYY fan in MA. Its like home to be told to F- off because I like the Yankees
  20. When Judge was at his best, he was taking the ball down and away and putting it into the short porch in RF. He goes to the HR derby and afterwards, he is pulling off of EVERYTHING. It took until the last month of the season to see him hit the ball the other way with authority. Judge is a rare breed. We don't see a lot of HR hitters these days using the whole field, and prior to the ASB, actually preferring to hit the ball the other way. If Judge goes into an all or nothing approach and becomes dead pull, he will hit .220 with 30HR. If he continues his middle first approach, he has a chance to hit for a good average and honestly hit 50+ HRs consistently. Every time he tries to pull the ball, he becomes real easy to strike out
  21. And how many head to heads have the Pats won vs. NY?
  22. Look at Martinez' numbers before poo-pooing him. He has been a monster for awhile now and in Fenway he'd be a beast. I know you are willing to rest on your laurels because the sox won the division, but I don't think anyone picks the sox in the ALE as constituted right now
  23. I see now. My apologies. I don't think he has the same approach, but I could see why you would think that. Branyan tried to hit every ball he ever saw into the RF seats. Dunn was also pretty consistently dead pull. Sexson had a really nice run for awhile and while he did pull a lot, he used CF a lot too. He had a 5 year run where he averaged over .900OPS and 30+HR a year. The thing with Richie and one limiting concern I have for Judge is both guys were so tall that the reaper came a bit early. Sexson had his last .900+OPS season at 31, his last 30HR season at 32. It's possible we see the same drop off. If someone would tell me hey, Judge is looking at a 7 year prime of Richie Sexson, I take that in a heartbeat. I think he can do more personally just because his rookie year absolutely demolishes anything Richie ever did, but I see the comparison. Judge also uses CF and to a larger extent RF very, very well. Judge and the Yankees is a match made in heaven in terms of park. If he gets it, no park holds it, but if he mis hits it to RF, it is probably going out anway. Personally, I think Judge has 60+HR potential and I would love to see him and Giancarlo do their thing in the same lineup
  24. How many post season series did you win last year?
