  1. Cash better be on the phone. Tanaka usually heats up as the season goes on, but he’s almost unusable now
  2. He just missed his spot by a foot and Bradley fouled it off
  3. Tanaka has been great most of the year, but he’s coming off a bad start and isn’t far from the Sox 0.2IP debacle. He can’t locate and his stuff isn’t good enough to blow people away
  4. Tanaka not locating then gives up the 3 run bomb. Idiot
  5. Gardner, Andujar, and Sanchez are on the IL.
  6. Troy Tulowitzki retired today
  7. ERod has been a bright spot on the Sox staff and even he has taken a productivity downturn from last year. He has certainly taken a durability upgrade
  8. He’s tradeable, but if the buyer isn’t gonna use him in the lineup, then why spend much? His return isn’t gonna be a reliever with value. It’ll be a reclamation project or a C level prospect
  9. Lynn isn’t made for this rivalry. He’s also a near 5WAR pitcher already under reasonable control for another 2 years. You’re not getting him for Dalbec
  10. For Porcello, it is all about the curveball. If he is getting no depth on that thing, he is gonna get smashed. Tanaka just needs to be Tanaka. Last time they faced, he couldn't locate anything. Tanaka is what he is. He is gonna allow a HR, he is not gonna walk many, he is gonna K a few. When all is said and done, he gives you a 6IP 2-3ER start and the line looks more impressive than your memory of his starts. This is how he is in the regular season, although historically, he heats up the final 2 months and into the post season.
  11. Ockimey has shown nothing in his promotion. Dalbec has been slumping and has a huge hole in his game. I doubt either one breaks camp in Boston in 2020. I think JBJ gets DFA'd. He is making big money now and arbitration never goes down. Nobody is gonna want him with his defensive metrics trending down and his offense cratering at a big salary.
  12. The Yanks aren't gonna put them back on the mound to suck. I guarantee you the Yanks medical team is gonna be on them entirely and if they cannot perform to their level, they'll shut them down (Sevy) or leave them in low leverage (Betances). Severino will not be pushed. We just made a big investment in him and we aren't gonna f*** that up by pushing for this year. Betances, we might ride into the ground since he is a FA after this season.
  13. The Yankees series could ABSOLUTELY determine if the sox go for it. The Yanks and Sox play through July 28th, ie 3 days before the now hard deadline for trades. If the sox rip through the Yanks rotation and sweep the series, then DD is gonna be adding to the club. If the Yanks sweep the sox and the A's take care of business vs the slumping Rangers, then DD could be on the phones looking to sell of rental parts with the sox down 6. If there is a status quo (sox and yanks split, rangers and a's split) then that is where DD is gonna have to make a big decision
  14. Wait, JBJ went ice cold? Color me shocked
  15. That's the moral of the story. It's a comprehensive failure of the entire staff
  16. Look at the contenders and Moreland's recent play before considering him a trade asset. He's a first baseman who hits homers, is slumping and missed a good part of the year. TB has Choi. Moreland is a minus on the OBP but a plus on OPS due to his SLG. Maybe they want Moreland? MIN has plenty to cover 1b with Sano and Cron CLE has Santana HOU has Alvarez OAK has Olsen WAS has Adams PHI has Hoskins NYY don't need him ATL has Freeman CHC has Rizzo MIL has Thames STL has Goldy LAD has Muncy ARI has Walker/Lamb SF has Belt That's about it unless another team jumps in the mix. Moreland is not a pure upgrade over anyone. Plus with his slump and his recent injury, there is no chance the sox get anything for him
  17. They are entertaining because we always seem to follow the same blueprint. Fall behind early due to our faulty starting pitching. Offense hammers back into the lead. Pen holds the game. That is usually how we win. We haven't had too many 9-1 games where the O and the pitchers are rolling. It's more fun to watch offensive baseball than a pitchers duel
  18. He has a .591OPS in AA. Maybe wait for something more than 4 hot games before penciling him into your squad. He's a singles dependent burner. He needs to work on his plate discipline and his K's. He's trending towards a Dee Gordon 2019-lite player and that's a minus or flat WAR guy.
  19. Also, we need the top spot more than anyone. Give us home field and the WC winner who just burned their ace and I’ll take our chances of getting to the ALCS. I’ll be rooting hard for Minnesota/Cleveland vs the Astros. And rooting hard for the field vs LA in the NL
