    I am just saying that his tools are more worthwhile in a sub role because of his speed. Plus, it isnt like they have to worry about him missing minor league time, his season will be over.

    we'll see if Beckett comes up big. This is NOT a favorable matchup for him. Fastball hitting team against a fastball first pitcher. If tek were behind the plate, then there would be reason for confidence, but with Lopez back there, who knows. And it isnt the fact that Tek is amazing or anything, it is the fact that Lopez is that bad behind the plate.

    Harris, Pedoia, Ginter, Gabbard, DiNardo, Ellsbury to name a few. I think Ellsbury comes up to be a late inning D replacement for Pena and a pinch runner.

    True, I do believe that a good starter is more valuable, unless you trade a lights out closer for a horrible closer. If you can move Paps into the rotation and have a guy like Cordero to plug in, then do it. If you are going to move Paps into the rotation, and Hansen is the best you have, then you are awaiting disaster.

    Agreed. Once he loses his usefulness, he gets thrown under the bus. Cheer him as a champion as he leaves town.

    dont get it. The tigers have one lefty starter in Casey. I'd figure they would bring up someone who they would use then make another move before the yankee series.

    Not anymore. Did you see him this year before he ended his season. He was maxing out at 91mph instead of his 98. He is a guy who should be counted on like the yankees are counting on Dotel. If he comes back effectively, great, if not don't rely on him returning to form.

    On second look at his stats as a starter, Papelboner is actually right. He walked 10 in 16 innings in 3 starts. As a closer this yr he has only walked 12 in 60IP. Interesting.
