  1. I should have said bullpen. Torre was interviewed yesterday and it sounded like he may pass Pettitte on the first turn of the season. Better early than late in baseball.
  2. Iu ma so damm masd tha ynaknees lost a sprung tranin gaem. Fier Jeo!!
  3. hey, can one of you mods change the title to 25th spot. The title is stupid. My bad.
  4. This is good news for now.
  5. http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/redSox/?p=963
  6. Agreed. But there is always an adjustment period in NY. Guys who come up with us typically are better off because it is all they ever know. Dont get me wrong, when he is a FA, I hope we outbid everyone. But not at the expense of Hughes.
  7. that he does. Keep em comin.
  8. Hansen and Lester should get the same sit-down. Tito and Theo should sit with them and say, listen, you have a very bright future, but you need to get stronger/refine your stuff. You will not see the majors unless something catastrophic happens until the rosters expand, Period.
  9. Here is what you do with Lowell. Wait until the AS break right when Lowell looks pretty solid and then deal him before his perennial fall swoon.
  10. who has the sweetest swing from each side of the plate? This comes to mind after watching Robby Cano lace a ball into the RCF gap. He has about as nice looking a swing from the left side of the plate than anyone. Papi has an effective one, but it isnt as pretty as Cano's. From the right side, it is Manny any day of the week.
  11. Lieber is expected to miss the first month of the season.
  12. it is SPRING TRAINING!!! Dont take anything from a veteran hitter's performance in ST. You can get something out of any pitcher (command, velocity, improvement, etc) and on young hitters (cause they are truly putting it all on the line) but veteran hitters are only trying to get their legs under them for the 162 game grind.
  13. Because Santana has 8 yrs on him and will cost 20 mil a yr vs the 350K Hughes will command.
  14. and on the cheap. Hughes is the best yankee pitching prospect since Whitey Ford. His polish and his stuff at 20 is remarkable. You dont give up on that kind of talent for anything.
  15. the yankees have far more depth in the pitching department than the sox do. If the yankees fail due to pitching injuries/ineffectiveness, then it isnt the FO's problem. They loaded the minors and gave Torre 7 starting pitchers from day 1.
  16. what about Greenville or the GCL.
  17. yes they did. But Radke is toast and Liriano will be back to form in Santana's first yr of his new contract.
  18. for this yr. I expect him to be dealt this offseason.
  19. what makes you say that. His EXTENSIVE Spring training experience.
  20. Gom has never been very rational.
  21. Tabata is absolutely nasty. Remember, he justed turned 18 and lit up ST and long season A ball.
  22. I should have said plus plus pitches. He has a plus curve and from some scouting reports a plus heater. He doesnt have plus location though. My bad.
  23. that is still 3.5 walks per 9 in the minors, something too high for a guy without lights out stuff. It also happened to be the lowest of any stop in his career. He is typically closer to 4, which is way too much for a guy without solid plus pitches. He needs refinement.
