  1. Yeah, they are certainly allowing fewer runs, right now. I have a feeling that 2 of your suddenly teflon troika will fall on hard times by the time the yr is through.
  2. I dont think your team will be that poor ORS, like I said, your offense will improve. But as I said before, your lineup has holes in it, something it did not have previously and those holes will cost in run production.
  3. I would have bunted and forced them to walk Ortiz with Manny on deck. You wanted to have Manny or Ortiz up with the tying run in scoring position. The risk he took was not worth IMO.
  4. I said I'd take one and a half yrs of major league results over what Matsuzaka has done to this point. And to say Igawa's success in Japan is any different is a bit jaded. Since 2000, they have been pretty close and Igawa has an MVP under his belt.
  5. Kilo, I wont pull a fred and throw you under the bus, but your rational logic is showing some cracks this am.
  6. the yankees rotation wont be as bad simply because they will not have the same mishmash unit out there.
  7. so wait. So Igawa's success in Japan doesnt translate, but Matsuzaka's does? Are you serious? Kilo, you are backing into a corner here. Just say it. Right now, you will choose DMats over Wang based on "stuff" and the fact that you are a red sox fan. It is okay to admit it.
  8. To this point, there have been 2 games where the starter got the loss and no games that we were out of at all. Even through the awful injuries and rocky start, the rotation has still kept us in every single game even if they were trying their hardest not to. Back to my prediction and my reasoning. The Yankees will roll through the east this yr and win the division going away. Why? Because they can have the 3rd worst starting pitching in the majors to this point and be in every single game. And when the entire arsenal of pitchers returns and the rotation finally gets going again, those close games or close losses will be lopsided wins in our favor. And this lineup is absolutely dominating right now (leading the legue with 6.2 runs per game) with Giambi doing nothing and Matsui out (with Melky sucking to this point). Add back Wang for Rasner, Karstens (who has now been pencilled into the rotation in Pavano's place), and Mussina for Wright and we will be doing fine. Mussina and Torre both said that Moose will return to the mound on the 1st possible day in which he can return. Wang is etched in for Tuesday @ the devil rays and Karstens is back. The only guy who is uncertain is (SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!!) Carla Pussano.
  9. Obviously Joe Morgan is not one of those people going to get educated.
  10. he will always have one shaky inning. It is very rare that a pitcher comes through a game without having one inning where they were put on the ropes a bit.
  11. Random conjecture here, but I think WMP gets a shot again in this series and if he can at least hit adequately and he may end up splitting time in CF with Cocout.
  12. ? No you dont. It is not worth having a putrid CFer for 5 mil when you could have had a stellar CFer for 13, especially when you are a big market club.
  13. Ahh, I didnt know that. Interesting. We beat him to a bloody pulp.
  14. his 1 yr is more than DMats has. And it is actually one and a half.
  15. I have a feeling Cashman changes his tune on not extending ARod if he keeps this up. He is hitting like a man on fire.
  16. The sox rotation is really solid to this point. Your middle relief hasnt been tested to this point as they have thrown the 3rd least amount of innings in the majors. Eventually, as an AL team, that will change and the pen will be tested to a degree. I highly doubt that everything clicks this well for your rotation over the full yr. Beckett was 3-0 last yr as well and Big Schill started out strong too, yet we all know how that ended. And like I have said before, we have the offense and the bullpen, you guys have the starting pitching. To this point, your rotation is very good and our offense and pen are very good. Once we get our rotation pieces back rather soon, we will be a regular season wrecking ball.
  17. I think I'd worry about my own team only scoring 1 run against a jays team that had no bullpen and a decidedly average SP. Like I said before, you guys facing him in the fens may lead to problems, but we shall see. And by the way, Chacin was awful last season and is not a very good pitcher. Well, not good enough for the sox to let him pitch into the 7th allowing 1 run when their pen is depleted as all hell. Like Sampson losing his hair, when the sox leave Fenway, they forget how to hit or work pitchers.
  18. Game over, Yankees win 10-3 The lineup killed the ball. ARod is absolutely out of this world right now. Wright pitched in and out of trouble on a terribly old night. As I said before, the freezing cold takes away some feel and that is problematic for finesse pitchers, which Wright is. His next start is in Boston on Sunday, when the weather should be a whole lot better (mid 50s to low 60s). He earned another start against a top tier offense. And the bullpen was lights out after he left. Nice win one game after having our hearts ripped out.
  19. Celtics should pick 2nd. If they dont have a guy named Oden or Durant on their team, Ainge should be hung upside down in Faneuil Hall and beaten with rubber mallets.
