  1. I believe we still lead the league in pen ERA (not sure if ESPN's site is updated btw) and you guys are second in rotation ERA to jOakland.
  2. The bold is true once out of every 3 times he takes the hill. And I have watched Paps sporadically the past 2 yrs and every time he will throw 80% of his pitches in the 93-94 range. The other 20% are in the 95-96 range, especially when he needs the gasface. He sits 93-94 with the capability to throw 95-96.
  3. Your rotation and our bullpen have been impenetrable.
  4. Farns can break triple digits regularly and sits 98-99. Paps sits 93-94. Either way, knowing Farns, he'd try to hit him and give up a homer.
  5. He threw 5IP of 3ER ball and then threw a bullpen afterwards with ZERO problems. He will be activated on Tuesday and will return to the throne of the rotation.
  6. right, but Frankie was filthy and Cabrera was all world talent. I dont think you should hinder Ellsbury while dealing with Cocout, but Ells isnt that kind of talent. You have just as much chance of him involuting and being poor as him catching fire. I'd still bring him up to AAA and see how he does there. And then bring him up to patrol CF. I think he will be good.
  7. to AAA at least.
  8. Farns can throw a lot harder than Paps. And Farns has a pretty good body slam, or so I have heard.
  9. you throw at him and you have a corps of power armed relievers who'd love to put Papi in his sites.
  10. time for a callup.
  11. it is in Fenway, so I'd think your bats will be swingin. You are facing a tough pitcher 1st though.
  12. btw, solid argument tonight. I dont think either of us are wrong right now. We'll find out on Saturday.
  13. you know what would be funny? If the Schilling/Pettitte game turns into a 10-9 affair and the next 2 games are low scoring pitching duels. That would be interesting.
  14. He was an abysmal hitter in the clutch for 3 seasons. All I asked of him was to hit in the clutch. Now he is. Whats not to like?
  15. BTW, Pavano out with an elbow strain. He is feeling better to this point, but I am not optimistic. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2843456
  16. Pronator Teres strain. Good news for Felix. The Mariners are saying Felix Hernandez will likely miss two to three starts with a flexor-pronator strain inside his right, pitching elbow and forearm.
  17. I dont want to think about him leaving right now. He is the reason why we arent in last place right now.
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2843456 The biggest piece of the Sheff trade will be on the shelf for the season. He joins Christian Garcia, Mark Melancon, and JB Cox recovering from TJ. Nowadays the surgery is mostly a rite of passage, so his career is merely stalling. But nobody can truly predict how he will come out of it.
  19. tabata 1 for 1 to this point, hitting .347. BTW, the rest of our offensive prospects in long season ball suck pretty bad. Duncan is getting outplayed.
  20. 5IP 1ER. I didnt say we'd hammer him, just that we will grind him.
