    Here's the deal, we're gonna be sacrificing our 1st and 2nd rounders anyway IMO. We have them guaranteed from last yr and with Abreu and possibly Marte hitting the road, we're gonna have at least 2-4 more.

His last season with the 5.4ERA also included a playoff run that he was integral in, AND was followed by 4 yrs of absolutely solid performance. But go ahead and harp on that one season in 2004. It is WAY more relevant than the last 4 and the WS ring.

    Think about this. Lowe will likely be in the 4.2-4.7ERA range. Sheets, lets say for argument's sake would be around 3.7-4.0. Think about this. Lowe for 210IP at 4.50ERA or Sheets for 140IP at 3.70ERA and Rasner at 5.40ERA for 70IP.

    That we do, especially since right now, Wang is the only reliable starter under contract and I consider him a #2. I am of the belief that we need to top load the rotation or spread it out. Either sign CC and AJ to make one hell of a top 3 or sign Lowe, Pettitte, and Moose to make a top 4 that should see 30 starts apiece and near 200IP. We need to get quality innings out of our starters. If you take a look at the teams of our championship days, we only got Cy Young performance once (Roger in 2001). Our strength was having a rotation that gave lots of quality innings, a shutdown bullpen and a lineup that wasnt the best, but could score when absolutely needed. The pen should get to near shutdown level, but the offense has some significant ??s and the rotation is one man deep right now. I am very excited about this offseason mostly because we will get to see how we integrate the kids in with a good FA class.
