  1. that typically only works when I am hoping for the opposite. I would love it if the sox won today
  2. Kazmir just continuing the trend. This sox team just cant hit good pitching right now
  3. After 9 days in a row of work, I finally have a day off. Hope its a good game, and I actually want the sox to win. I want this series to go to 5 games
  4. keep thinking that. Remember, the sox had the lead in the negotiations, they were the highest bidder and they had a face to face with the chance to seal the deal. And it came down to 10mil over 8yrs, o/w known as 1.25mil a season. The equivalent of an Alex Cora. Instead, the sox pocketed the money put out the "we are a very good club who can play status quo and win a championship" and instead of putting yourself in a position to win a WS, you are one loss away from a LOOOONG winter. Think about it this way. If the Yankees win a world series with Teixeira being our MVP while the sox bow out in the 1st round, would that prove the 10 mil saved to be a s***** investment? Plus, Tex is 29 yrs old now and will be the face of this offense for a LOOONG time
  5. Dojji, if the sox had Teixeira, they win the east. If they had Teixeira, they become more consistent. And with Teixeira, the sox are MUCH better and are much more of a playoff threat. You could see how weak the sox were as the season ran along and I dont think anyone actually thought the sox could win the WS aside from just complete s*** luck
  6. To be totally honest, I wouldnt be surprised if the yankees let Damon walk, resign Matsui for a yr and then go after another pitcher like Lackey.
  7. The sox arent a championship team. They are a streaky team that gets shut down by good pitching. That never used to be the case when Manny and Papi were a tandem and both were rolling, cause it didnt matter who they faced, they could hit them. It changed the entire way the lineup was approached. As weird as it sounds, Papi and Manny really couldnt be pitched to in their prime. Now, everyone in the sox lineup can be pitched to and even with Youks having a really good yr, he doesnt strike fear in you like those guys did. Manny and Papi changed the approach of the pitcher, meaning that they had to give better pitches to the other hitters so they didnt have to face Manny and Papi with runners on via the walk. They knew when they were coming. Pitchers planned inning in advance to avoid them. Now, there is nobody that instills that fear.
  8. 2 out walks have been our bane tonight. Cmon Ace
  9. Dude, ARod is his own worst enemy. Once he is comfortable, good things happen. He's comfortable now
  10. ARod has arrived people. He looks really f***ing good right now
  11. Our first 3 up in the 9th are 14-29 vs Nathan combined
  12. We need Pettitte to be vintage in game 3, cause this offense has decided to hide against mediocre pitching
  13. The bats did not come to play tonight
  14. strike 3 was about 6 inches off the plate. And some will say he's been calling it all game. Well, he's been calling it about 50% of the time today
  15. From the sounds of it, pitches are called by Pena off the bench. i just dont see how you go to the breaking ball in the strike zone vs a slap hitter like Punto. Especially when he was incredibly late on the fastball in the prior pitches. Last night, Hughes blew away Cabrera with something like 7 consecutive FBs. Why? Cause he couldnt catch up to them. Same type of situation and instead we f***ing give in. s***, that pisses me off. Its baseball 101. The only thing that could be excuseable is if he was trying to bounce the curve. Then again, bouncing a curve with a runner on 3rd is dumb
  16. ONE OUT TOO LATE GIRARDI!
  17. WHY THE f*** WOULD YOU GO TO THE f***ING CURVEBALL AGAINST THIS f***ING GUY!!!
  18. Posada, Jeter, Damon next inning. We need to shut this down right now
  19. Amen. Meriweather must think Melky is actually Miguel Cabrera. Cause that 3-0 pitch was at the top of Miguel's K zone. It was about 6 inches above Melky's
  20. Did Meriweather go to the same school as Bucknor?
  21. 2 BS calls in a row
