  1. Derek Jeter comes up with another big hit. Hey Damon, how bout you do something useful in your swan song in NY?
  2. this game pace is Maddux circa 96
  3. Never got on Ortiz. I got on those on this site who swore up and down he couldnt have used and then slammed the yankees who used.
  4. find me one post where I counter my current argument
  5. Go for it. I have always maintained that I dont care. I was just burning those who said David was clean and ARod/Clemens/Pettitte were frauds and we should give up our world series championships
  6. We are starting to hit the ball much harder, we will get to him shortly
  7. I dont care what he did, so long as he wins
  8. Might be time to start swinging first pitch. He is just throwing that 2 seamer every time
  9. Thats the player we thought we signed when we handed him 40mil over 4 yrs. BTW, we need to resign Pettitte. This guy is just flat out money all the time
  10. I said the Red Sox backed away from dealing for him. I never said they didnt want him. They backed away because they thought Bowden was too much.
  11. In Theo's defense, M. Montero had been very hot and cold up until this yr, but he has always been a solid defensive catcher. At this point, it looks like a bit of a bad decision
  12. well, he's not cheap, he's the second best catcher on their team and he's currently injured. Then, consider the DBacks are facing some seriously hard financial times and he could be had for a salary dump
  13. http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3995833&name=gammons_peter&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fespn%2fblog%2findex%3fentryID%3d3995833%26name%3dgammons_peter
  14. Its never about the start vs NY. The Yankees wear teams down and then slowly start hitting usually the second time through
  15. Bowden for Montero was the hot rumor right before spring training, but the sox backed away
  16. Snyder could be had for nothing. He was signed to a long term deal, sucked this yr, and will be coming off back surgery.
  17. They could have gotten Miguel Montero last offseason. He is looking like a franchise catcher these days.
  18. hey, shouldnt this be stickied?
  19. If you want to talk about choking, start here. Wolf, Kershaw, and Padilla shut down the Cardinals.
  20. its 15 days after the conclusion of the world series
  21. Consolation: The Red Sox record is a tribute to their manager and they won way more games than their performance should have indicated. Utter realism: The sox need a lot of changes to get back to being championship contenders. Their stand pat attitude after 2008 was a killer
  22. The series wasnt choked away, as the Angels were the better team. The sox did not choke away game 3 as a team because their team handed their closer a 3 run lead, then added another run after he let two of them back in. This was a unilateral choke by Papelbon. He paints Wagner, then gets 2 outs, only to give up an 0-2 hit to Aybar and walk the tying run. Papelbon's image as a shut down postseason closer should be considered a memory. This wasnt a homerun that was blown out or an error filled inning to lose a game. This was just a pitcher who has lost some of his stuff (read splitter) who is now a hittable, above average, but not spectacular closer.
  23. how to shut em down there Buchholz
