  1. Because "Yankee Class" is the biggest oxymoron in sports.
  2. If I were in the RS bullpen I'd have them laced up in the first inning of Dice-K starts.
  3. Hey VA! He starts Kindergarten this year. Just finished his first year of Tee Ball. When we play ball in the back yard and he really gets a hold of one, he chimes, "Double of the Monsta!" I'm doing my part to secure the future of RSN. Thanks for asking.
  4. I'm back after a year or so in the minors. Any of the old gang still around?
  5. The obvious choice for "goat" of the game is Paps- deservedly so. However, our manager assumed too much, we couldn't get a bunt down when we needed it, Ortiz was yanked too early, Youk never got an at bat, and Lackey was again eminently hittable.
  6. This is a nice post. The only thing I'd add is that it is better that this is happening now than in Sept/Oct because we still have time to fix this.
  7. Nice comeback today against the best, statistically speaking, pitcher in baseball ball. I liked our plate discipline up until the 7th-8th inning. Nava, McDonald, Bard, Scutaro. I don't like watching Tito manage the NL game. He falls in love with the "double switch" and all of a sudden turns into Eistein; instead on another at bat by Papi, we get Tek and Cameron into the game. Youk doesn't even get an at bat? You pitch to Giambi with a base open in the 9th? Walk him, get a ground ball and you're still playing. It's painful to watch. Reddick. Can't get the bunt down after the lead off man gets on in the 8th? You're a major league ball player playing in the NL park and you can't bunt? Lots of blame to go round here...
  8. I really think they have to go away on Cabrera.
  9. That corner's been there all night. f***in' Scosia needs to keep his trap shut; Escobar been getting the same s***. Dumb pitch to Figgins.
  10. I hope Foulke's been paying attention to the HUGE outside corner.
  11. Crisp needs to take a strike here.
  12. Here's where Wells needs to shut the door. We'll see how "back" he really is....
  13. I'm with you Pesky, as close to a must win as we've had all year, especially with JJ taking the hill for us on Friday...
  14. Yes. On a day where Beckett didn't have his best stuff, was out of sync with a new catcher and left some balls up, he did manage 104 pitches and six innings. Some would say he sacked it up a bit and threw 3 scoreless innings saving the bullpen and giving the Sox an outside chance. Enter Seanz. Rudy "fkn" Seanz. 2 runs, 2 walks, 2 hits, and only four outs and it could have been worse. He took what may have been a 5-4 game in late innings and crapped his pants. Why is he still with us?
  15. I agree. There really doesn't seem to be much life here does there? Like a ST game.
  16. Not sure Timlin knew he was pitching in a major league game, everything was up. Lousy defense too for a change. These guys just look OFF today, can't really explain it. Two bunts "surprise" the defense, a missed cut off, and a lazy luckluster performance all around.
  17. It's simple really: we're leaving fastballs over the plate on fastball counts and the D-Rays pitchers have been doing a great job of "pitching," changing speeds, fastballs in, breaking stuff down; we're being outpitched.
  18. As was yesterday's. It's getting frustrating a bit.
  19. Yanks down 4-1 in the 2nd to Cleveland.
  20. Curt's fastball is suddenly flaaaaaaat. Time for a big dose of splitty.
  21. As I was typing: "Okay, time for Papi to go Deep." (He beat me to it)
  22. I agree with that approach EXCEPT for those two at bats. Loretta followed a four pitch walk to Youk by offering at two pitches out of the strikezone. Tek, well, Tek was out before he stepped in the box.
