  6. too lazy to make a new thread, but LOU MERLONI just got called up to Cleveland, sending another former Sox, Ramon Vazquez, down. Nice trade, btw, Vazquez for Cora. Gammons calls Cora the smartest man in baseball.
  7. If this is already a thread, delete it, but apparently, Clemens has accelerated his workout, and is eyeing a comeback to the big leagues. http://x.go.com/cgi/x.pl?goto=http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=2448608&name=FPT-2448608-051720&srvc=sz

  14. other ballparks made me realize how crappy the seats are at fenway....so cramped
  15. yeah i agree, Lester isn't ready yet, MAYBE later this season...maybe
  16. I know it won't happen, but what about trading Trot Nixon in a package for Zito or some other pitcher of a lesser status, because Wily Mo has been sick in the lineup.
  17. DFA him, call up Hee-Seop Choi.
  18. Good weather I think Tim Wakefield http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/4906.jpg Erik Bedard http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/6910.jpg Info: 7:05, NESN, WEEI The Red Sox can't be thrilled that Wednesday is getaway day at Camden Yards. The Red Sox are 8-0 against the Orioles this season and hold a 13-game winning streak vs. Baltimore, dating back to Sept. 3, 2005. They'll try to keep that streak going when veteran knuckleballer Tim Wakefield takes the mound against lefty Erik Bedard. The Red Sox have won Wakefield's last three starts, all of which have come with Doug Mirabelli, Wakefield's personal catcher, behind the plate. The Boston bullpen continues to have a huge impact on the team's overall success. "I said in April, and I said late in Spring Training, we've got a shutdown bullpen," said Red Sox ace Curt Schilling. "This is a bullpen where literally there's five guys, you can mix and match them from the sixth and seventh inning on, and they can throw up power numbers." Jonathan Papelbon continues to be nearly unhittable as the closer. The rookie right-hander is 14-for-14 in save opportunities. "What can you say about Pap other than he's been phenomenal," Schilling said.
