  1. Yup. It was, uh, pretty behind him.
  2. Somehow the Dodgers are still in it...
  3. Bases loaded 0 out, Phils could break this open in the 3rd.
  4. Phils with the killer 2 out rally, 4-1.
  5. A) Fitzy does indeed suck. He doesn't "represent" the Red Sox. B ) "Mental Experience" and "Grinding it out" is ********. C) Sox in 7.
  6. I know, I was basing it off of his performance at the time (through 3 innings I think). He didn't look sharp to me.
  7. Short game, especially for the playoffs. 1-0 Phils.
  8. Agree. The right guys are getting the right number of starts, no complaints.
  9. 3-2 at the stretch, nice job by Hamels.
  10. Derek Lowe face--confirmed!
  11. None of those 3 guys have a significant dropoff when facing lefties (as opposed to facing righties), and Cora is better against lefties. Though it would be nice to have another righty on the bench.
  12. Kind of surprised that Lowe hasn't allowed a run yet...2-0 LA.
  13. 4 man rotations are pretty common now. In this situation a 3 man rotation puts Matsuzaka on 3 days rest in Game 4, something that isn't really ideal (the more rest he has, the better he is). The Sox used a 4 man in 03, 04 and 07.
  14. Casey, Kotsay and Cora will split time in the open spot. Hopefully Casey gets the most AB's of that.
  15. Good bounceback for Hamels.
  16. As in Michael August Timlin, he of 42 years and the owner of a 5.66 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP.
  17. I wish there was a Moyer-Maddux pitching matchup. 87 y/o combined FTW!
  18. Timlin added to ALCS roster, which I think means Velazquez is off.
  19. http://graphics.jsonline.com/graphics/sports/brew/img/oct03/lowe1009.jpg
  20. Cubs: 97 wins (98 pythag), 2nd in NL in BA, 1st in OBP, 1st in SLG, 1st in R, 2nd in H, 2nd in ERA, 1st in K, 1 in Hits allowed. White Sox: 89 wins (89 pythag), 11th in AL in BA, 9th in OBP, 2nd in SLG, 5th in R, 10th in H, 6th in ERA, 3rd in K, 6th in Hits allowed.
  21. 101 years is nothing! Hang in there.
  22. The Cubs were better than the White Sox, not even close.
