  1. Seriously Jacko, wtf? You want Hughes to turn into Santana. So why would you b opposed to trading him FOR Santana?
  2. The players today are leaps and bounds ahead of those guys in terms of athleticism.
  3. Totally, unequivocally uncalled for.
  4. It may be true, but Tito HAS to use him more wisely. He can't be run out there three days in a row.
  5. I absolutely can agree with this line of thinking, but I would have preferred them to at least give him the shot to perform as a starter. The injury risk really concerns me. If Tito is given strict instructions on how to use him, like 3 times a week or something, fine. I don't want the kid's shoulder exploding. We saw he's a special pitcher. He needs to be used correctly.
  6. Boston Y softball league.
  7. Santana is not going anywhere.
  8. 1. Learn how to use the quote button. 2. All ORS has simply said is that the Red Sox are not even considering that Papelbon can transition into an elite starter. By moving him to the bullpen NOW, the Red Sox limit their potential options. Hell, Piniero has thrown 8 straight scoreless innings. I'm not saying he'll be a lockdown closer, but I definitely think he can do a serviceable job. If the arms Theo acquired in the offseason couldn't do the job, then the FO could move Paps back into the pen. It's not a two way street. 3. I am not a fan of Paps putting his shoulder under so much strain. He got injured closing last year. It's a distinct possibility he can get hurt again this year, especially if Tito's usage of him remains constant (which I think it will). In closing, ORS is not saying he will become an elite starter, but merely he could given the chance. The Red Sox are not giving him that chance.
  9. Think about the competition level.
  10. Hansen is becoming increasingly harder to like with each passing day. Sigh.
  11. I think we can all agree that if Jordan didn't take two years off the Bulls win 8 straight and guys like Cassell and Olajuwon don't have rings.
  12. That article sucks. It's basically equivalent to me saying "I'm set up to take a huge dump" just because I ate lunch.
  13. Ehhh I dunno about that. Bill Russell was always the thorn in Wilt's side....can't really think of anyone who was like that for MJ.
  14. I'm not saying what he's saying isn't true. I wish Papelbon was still in the rotation. It's just funny he has to include it when Yankee pitchers are dropping left and right.
  15. Hansack would see the mound before Gabbard and Pauley. I find it funny you throw in the obligatory shot at the Sox at the end, too. I think we know all about rotation injuries from last year.
  16. But you said you'd be ecstatic if Pedroia hit .270.
  17. Sheffield and Matsui were replaced by a serviceable Melky Cabrera and Bernie Williams, and later Bobby Abreu. You overstate the loss of Sheffield and Matsui tremendously.
  18. So what you say is don't blame the FO when the players don't perform, and give them all the credit when the players win? RSR, suck a dick.
  19. This best be sarcasm. Let me rephrase. How much credit can you give the FO for the players winning in '04.?
  20. I was hoping there'd be some crazy YouTube link in this thread.
