  1. Well if JD Drew's out for a while looks like I'll get my wish.
  2. Gotta say this is a complete joke. I guess Stoudemire had a point when he said the Spurs were a dirty team?
  3. [youtube=Simmer Down]oiQkO-uR5Hs Where's the love? Where is the loyalty? We did our part now where is the love? Simmer down, control my temper Simmer down, the battle will be hotter Simmer down, it's hard 'cause it hurts so, Simmer down, kick me off Simmer down, but the pain still exists Simmer down, and hey I'm sure he'll be missed Simmer down, it'll make us stronger Simmer down, and we'll live alot longer so Simmer down, what goes around Simmer down, will come around Wake will be missed when he's gone, because we'll all remember performances like the one he's gonna throw tonight.
  4. Seriously, the goal of the Red Sox, Francona, and the FO should be to put the absolute best team on the field whenever possible. Aside from that two week stretch where Coco was actually hitting the ball (although many of his hits during that stretch were bunts), he has been a black hole in the lineup. Like CB said, speed does not work unless you get on base. Hell, everyone considered Lugo to be an awful OBP guy, but he's been hitting so that helps out a lot. Look, I just want to see what WMP can bring to the table with consistent playing time. Oh wait he hit .301 with a wrist injury. I wanted to give Crisp a chance as much as anyone but if he doesn't turn it around it's time to explore other options. And adam123 continues to be the biggest dicksmack on this board.
  5. Let's also be real, the starts that Rasner and DeSalvo have looked real good in are against the Seattle Mariners, who have guys in their lineup who would think WMP is a patient hitter. If they ever faced teams that worked the counts, they'd be Igawa redux most times.
  6. In terms of my favorite ballpark it would probably be Fenway. However these are parks I'd like to watch a game in at some point: Baltimore (Camden Yards) Seattle (Safeco) Cleveland (Jacobs Field) San Fran (AT&T Park) Pittsburgh (PNC Park) And these are the parks I consider to be absolute shitholes: Shea Minnesota (Metrodome) Tampa Bay (Tropicana Field) Oakland (McAfee Coliseum)
  7. Someone's reaching for things to criticize the Red Sox on, huh? Let's be real, Hansen was nowhere near the pitcher in AA Buchholz is. Period. Comparing the two seems a bit shortsighted to me. That being said I think the Sox tread water til Beckett and Lester come back.
  8. If Diaw and Stoutemire get suspended Duncan, Bowen, and Horry need to too.
  9. So, those Senators look pretty good, huh?
  10. You saw him play one game and make a snap judgment like that? Do the words "small sample size" mean anything to you? Give me a break. I can definitely see WMP as the replacement for Manny in left, because Manny is also an atrocious defensive outfielder.
  11. There is absolutely zero chance WMP clears waivers.
  12. I'm not being a rookie hater at all. I fully expect to see Jacoby Ellsbury with the team in 2008. I also want to be sure he can hit AAA pitching before we immediately jump him straight to the bigs. What's so wrong with keeping him in AAA until September? However, at what point does good defense outweigh a .276 OBP? The guy hits for almost no pop at all. I want to like Crisp, I really do, but he's making it very difficult to do so. I want the Red Sox to field the best team possible. Everyone cites Wily Mo's miscues in the field, but it seems to me that most of them occur in RF. I want Wily Mo to get more burn in CF. In CF, he is definitely a serviceable outfielder. Look at this another way. Coco's offense + Coco's CF defense Coco is an awesome defensive left fielder. Not so much a CFer. I think the Sox really need to consider giving WMP some consistent at bats. Coco had two hits tonight, but one was a dink hit that Granderson misread. I think if the Red Sox continue to put Crisp's bat in the lineup, they are not fielding the best team they possibly can. I just don't think any advantage Crisp brings defensively in centerfield excuses him being in the lineup with a sub .600 OPS.
  13. Apparently Smoltz dislocated his pinkie finger on his pitching hand.
  14. Smoltz got hurt tonight. He collided with Austin Kearns and hurt his hand.
  15. Love the DiceK/Papi handshake.
  16. Send DiceK back out there now. Awesome job by Lugo and Youks.
