  1. Woot I'm going to the game on Monday and I get Wake instead of Tavarez.
  2. God this thread received a boatload of stupid since this afternoon. Just win f***ers.
  3. Is it not the goal of a team to put the best team on the field possible? Speed is no good if he can't get on base. WMP is better at that, too. Wily Mo Pena is a league average CF and has a huge advantage over Crisp offensively. Wily Mo Pena is a league average CF and has a huge advantage over Crisp offensively. 6. Mussina with another great outing. Gas-caino in the game now.
  7. YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOOOOOARD YES!
  8. I mentioned it in the gamethread last night.
  9. Can anyone remember the last time Coco actually drove a ball? When did he turn into a groundball/popup type hitter?
  10. The White Sox offense is so f***ing bad.
  11. You can't use superglue, it would doctor the ball.
  12. How's Abreu playing healthy working out for you?
  13. I've heard this rumor flying around: Option J. Lopez to Pawtucket, call up Gabbard for the start Friday against the Braves. If Beckett is good to go by Monday, throw him Monday in the Bronx. That gives you Beckett/Schilling/DiceK at Yankee Stadium. To extrapolate further, taking into thought the off day on the 31st, you could theoretically have Beckett/Schilling/DiceK at Fenway again at the start of next month. Interesting thought, not quite sure how it would work out totally, but we'll have to see. I still think he gets DL'd.
  14. Bowen is a dirty player, no doubt. But the fact that this series is most likely going to be determined by a cheap shot by Robert Horry is absolute garbage. Yes, the letter of the law says that the Phoenix players can't leave the bench, but in the spirit of the law should they have really been suspended? I mean, Bowen with his cheap shots earlier in the series, with all of the tension that has escalated in the three prior games, and then culminating in the Horry foul just brought all of the conflict to a head. I was listening to Colin Cowherd this morning (bad choice most days, but he brought up some good points today), and he said a couple things of interest: 1. Tim Duncan, in the second quarter, left the bench after a hard foul. Now, I don't have any confirmation of this as I did not see it, but he seemed adamant that it happened. Obviously, it was not to the level of the Horry play, but if he left the bench (I guess the issue was how far he left), shouldn't he be suspended as well under the letter of the law? 2. The rule itself is very ambiguous and open to interpretation. While "rules are rules", the rule states that "During an altercation, players not in the game cannot leave the vicinity of the bench", or something like that. What defines altercation? What defines the vicinity of the bench? I just think the NBA dropped the ball on this. Horry, a lesser player than Stoudemire and Diaw, by hip checking Nash into the scorer's table, has given his team a tremendous advantage.
  15. Ummm, what? Anyway the Sabres have been outclassed by Ottawa's defenseman. They can't get a consistent attack going, even when they are on the power play. I agree wit you where you say the offense can't get much worse, but how much of that is due to Ottawa? As for Buffalo's defense, I'm not sure you can be better than Miller was in game 3. Gotta expect some regression from him, even though the Sabres can't afford it. I think Ottawa closes it out tonight.
  16. How's Damon playing hurt working out for you?
  17. So wait, if he allows more baserunners chances are they'll lose? Wow. Shocker.
  18. Tip your cap. I was running out of Bosstones vids anyway. By the way, would it be awful to put Coco in right and Wily Mo in center if Drew misses some time? I'd rather have a shortcoming concerning Crisp's noodle arm in right than WMP having adventures in right.
