  1. I sort of view Francona as Torre redux, except he seems more willing to make use of all of the statistical data afforded him. This is complete conjecture, but it's just an impression I get. agree. Cox has one ring. LaRussa is good but I feel he is a bit overrated, and likes to make himself the show. Lou Piniella is not as good of a manager as Terry Francona. You can't give Bochy a pass for bad teams and then bring Francona's total WP% into play. I know this wasn't a knock on Francona, but keep in mind Tito had some awful Phillies teams. Dusty Baker kills young arms, no thanks. Clint Hurdle over Francona? For what, 3 and a half weeks? Leyland, I'll give you.
  2. Right, my vote would be a Dusty Brown/George Kottaras platoon all year. Also, Varitek could be Wake's caddy next season on short money, WCS.
  3. JD Drew is a clutch god, it just took everyone a while to recognize it. He's had arguably the three most important hits of the postseason this year, after having arguably two or three of the most important LAST year.
  4. Meh, he pitched well in Game 4 of the ALDS (squeeze play) and in Game 2 of this series...not too concerned.
  5. 7 outs away, all 4 runs scored with two outs in the 7th.
  6. Here's the ones you can make a case for, IMO: Scioscia Maddon Manuel, C. Gaston (look at Toronto's turnaround this season) Gardenhire Other than those, I think Francona is easily better than all of the other managers. He's probably better than Gardenhire, Manuel, and Gaston on this list.
  7. Wouldn't shock me, I think they'll use the same gameplan next year as this.
  8. They let us win. Every time we tell them, every time they let us win.
  9. Name the dozen. I'll say there's maybe 5 or 6 better. Not 12.
  10. If Beckett can be Beckett, or at least 75-80%, I like our chances. If this goes to Game 7, collars will tighten.
  11. The Yankees are far more likely to break the bank for a Sabathia, Burnett, or Sheets because all it would cost them is money.
  12. Nah, he's got awful road splits and moving to the ALE would be a bad transition.
  13. PS Crisp better be in for Ellsbury come Saturday
  14. Red Sox have big balls Came back from down seven runs Grande testicles
  15. A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
  16. MY GOD WHAT A GAME

  18. They're gonna walk Drew and go after Lowrie Unintentional Intentional
