  1. Have you seen Wood's MiLB numbers? The military situation with Choo is a valid point but it's possible it's a non-issue. It wouldn't happen til after 2010 anyway so i get two awesome yrs out of him and by then Schafer could develop into something special. Loney doesn't have much power for a 1B but he's there for OBP and defense, besides he's hitting 8th. Pujols more than makes up for Loney (who sported a 137 OPS+ in 2007).
  2. Right now? Sure. Five years from now? Not so much.
  3. So who has the best lineup? My top 3: 1. Charlestown Chiefs - Sorry, no one touches my lineup in terms of depth IMO. When you can hit Loney 8th and Rowand 9th...man that is just an incredibly deep lineup. 2. DipreG - I think Bartlett's playing a bit over his head this year and Ludwick is a late bloomer, but if these two continue to have success, this is probably the 2nd best lineup in the game. 3. ORS - Love the youth of his lineup, think it's got a chance to really grow and flourish (although I still hate him for yoinking Gamel when he was my next selection)
  4. I thought it was funny
  5. Brad Penny totally hit it
  6. Penny v. Miller Win it for Alyssa Milano! http://hometownhollywood.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/alyssa-milano-21.jpg
  7. SSS He had eight weeks of suck before these two weeks of awesome. If he can sustain til the ASB I will say he's bounced back.
  8. Crespoblows until 10:35 PM.
  9. Jeter's a better pick than Guzman for sure.
  10. Yay I get to make another thread
  11. Jacoby has until 3:33 PM tomorrow afternoon.
  12. That's a pretty awesome lineup, especially if Ortiz keeps hitting.
  13. His eyes, man - his eyes tell me it will continue to go south
  14. castigs is on the clock until 7:11 tomorrow AM.
  15. Executive decision (because I love them so). Once msu picks, the window is once again going to be shrunk to 12 hours on weekdays, 24 on weekends. The clock will pause from the hours of 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM as most normal humans are asleep at that time. For example, if a pick is made at 11:00 PM on a weekday, the next individual has until 5 PM the next day to make their selection (1 hour from 11-12, 11 hours from 6 AM - 5 PM). The middle of this draft has made it drag a bit too much for my liking.
  16. Figured we should have a separate thread for discussion on this topic. http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs/7775_P_season_mini_4_20090615.png http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs/7775_P_season_mini_4_20090615.png http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs/7775_P_season_mini_9_20090615.png Lots of talk here that DiceK is due for a correction like Beckett and Lester are experiencing now. While it is nice that he's striking out a batter an inning, his HR/9, BABIP, and AVG are all way up. I think the HR/9 can come down a bit but the startling number is the LD%. His GB% has decreased signficantly as well. What this is telling me is that DiceK's high BABIP isn't bad luck - he's getting shelled. With all this talk about shipping Penny out of town, I think some discussion needs to be placed on DiceK. I'm not advocating trading the guy (although I would not be opposed to it), but I think a DL stint is in his near future to make room for Smoltz.
  17. Wakefield v. Volstad [youtube=Give me back that filet o'fish]6bJOIqVAD-s
  18. He killed his own relatives with his electrified pool?
