September 6 -- Dodgers manager Grady Little reverts to old habits by leaving starting pitcher Brett Tomko in until the eighth inning which, in Tomko's case, is eight innings too long.
September 15 -- Before the beginning of a home series against the Red Sox, the Yankees unveil a plaque in Monument Park that honors their 2004 squad as the first team in major league history to blow a 3-0 series lead in the playoffs.

June 1 -- The Dodgers lose ever-brittle J.D. Drew and Nomar Garciaparra to injuries sustained while washing Jeff Kent's truck.
April 3 -- The Mets beat the Nationals 19-4 in their home opener, thanks to a record eight inside-the-park home runs. Washington's Alfonso Soriano gets the start in left field for the Nationals, but stands beside second baseman Jose Vidro the entire game, leaving a gaping hole in the outfield.
