  1. That's a valid argument, but has nothing to do with this thread.
  2. I saw that and couldn't figure out what the refs were doing. I understand the intentional grounding rule; however we see plays every week where a QB is getting sacked and throws it at a receivers feet behind the line of scrimmage and there is no penalty. If you want to go by the letter of the law then it's probably intentional grounding.....but not the way it is normally called, and probably wouldn't be if he weren't in the endzone.
  3. I don't think I have ever seen Pierce play so smooth/fluid before.....he was great late in the game!
  4. Ty Warren was on WEEI this morning and they asked him about the upcoming game against the Jets and starts by saying "We have Fredo coming in.........."
  5. AD has played the most snaps out of anyone on D this year at 99%. He is also the defender (one of 2) that has the comm helmet. He is very versatile in that he can rush the passer, play the run, or drop into coverage........and can do all 3 at a very high level. He also plays on special teams in certain situations. Vrable will pick up the comm duties, but AD will be very hard to replace. The inside person is Pierre Woods, but there could also come an outside choice as Junior Seau (while mostly an ILB, has played OLB for the pats) or Rosie Colvin are both on the street.
  6. It's being reported that Adalius Thomas broke his arm, and continued to play another series with a brace. He will need surgery and will be placed on IR. Pretty crazy the amount of top guys the pats have lost this year, by my count it's: Tom Brady - starting QB Laurence Maroney - starting RB Rodney Harrison - starting SS Adalius Thomas - Starting OLB Tank Williams - SS Barry Stokes - Reserve OL Anthony Clement - Reserve OL Bo Ruud - reserve ILB Shawn Crable - Resere OLB Kenny Smith - Reserve DL Ryan O'Callaghan - Reserve OL AD is a big loss, he's been playing great and will be very hard to replace.
  7. Congrats to Dped....still should have seen Youk on there as well!
  8. Welcome, I spent a couple weeks in the Dominican in HS (many moons ago) and loved it. We went to a new place every day and set up a free clinic (dental, podiatry, general, ect...) and had a blast. Of course these days I doubt I could get all the stuff I bought through security like I did back then.... machete's, switchblade, ect...
  9. The drop by Gaffney was big and hurt, the penalty by Thomas hurt (although I don't believe he knew the play was over, so tough to fault him). What really lost this game was poor clock management and not having a TO near the end of the game. Calling our last TO on the 4th down play hurt us by losing the TO, and the fact that we had gotten the 1st down. It also hurt because we didn't have a challenge left..on the drive for the winning FG, Clark fumbled and knew it but we couldn't challenge. Cassel has been improving, I will take a win over Cassel looking good anyday.
  10. Excellent read on Mr Kraft and how the pats are still here: http://www.projo.com/patriots/content/sp_fbn_jim_donaldson26_10-26-08_0EC2CDS_v7.366c066.html
  11. This was def Cassel's best day so far. The int's weren't really his fault with the one hitting Randy's chest and going up in the air and the other one Welker falling down. In addition there were quite a few drops out there, one being an easy TD for Moss. Cassel still got into that pressure/pull it down and run mode several times and a better D could have exploited that more. Overall it was a good day all around, and our D played well. They gave up some big plays on young guys in the secondary making mistakes that can be corrected, they were not getting beat today in the backfield.

  13. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/27342610/ Looks like they went ahead with the surgery even though the MCL wasn't healed yet and it's the MCL incision that is causing the infection.
  14. Let's not get carried away. Of course you know the pats can't be happy considering TB left Mass to go to California to have surgery. I am sure they would prefer he be under doctors care that they know and trust......although the guy that did it is supposed to be good.

  17. Green-Ellis looked good; he made quick decisions and went instead of tap-dancing which is what Maroney is famous for. A lot of what we saw though we need to attribute to the poor D and the fact that they were on the field a lot. I like the instincts, but there's a long way to go. I disagree: while it was painfully obvious at times that Rodney is slower than he used to be, his main usefulness was communicating and getting the rest of the secondary on the same page before the snap.....that and the ability to adjust pre-snap and become an additional LB. The talent and quickness went up in the secondary with Rodney gone, but I don't think we are a better team without him. With that said, if Merriweather, Sanders, and the bunch learn quick and make the adjustment.....then come playoff time (if we make it) we could be a better team than what we would have been with Rodney.
  18. I agree that the Bills are for real and have done a great job thus far, but let's not get too carried away......it's still early.
  19. Rodney's injury looked terrible, and the fact that Bruschi came out and hugged him on the field leads me to believe that's it for his career......sad way to go out!
  20. It looked like Kotsay hit it better than where it ended up, i thought it would at least take him to the wall.
  21. Crap, at least his pitch count is getting up there at 68.......still would have liked to get a couple more runs there
  22. We need to put up some runs soon, so the Rays stat to press at the plate
