  1. Pettitte was weird last year. At the all-star break, I thought he was the worst pitcher ever. Then his home run rate stabilized, and his second half ERA was 2.80.
  2. Of note: jacksonianmarch's stupidity is not representative of standard Yankee fandom. Also, I
  3. Look at Peavy's peripherals. He's terrific. I wil s*** on the sidewalk in anger if the Red Sox get him.
  4. Yes, you do. That's why I told you what was said.
  5. Ok, now it's apparently 2 of that group, plus "a young vet like Wilson Betemit." I don't know if that means Betemit or what. This is all coming from nomaas.org, there's a guy there who usually seems to have some inside dope. Believe it if you want.
  6. Latest rumor is Manny to LA for Kemp, Broxton, Billingsley, and Loney. Dodgers have 72 hours to work out an acceptable extension for Ramirez.
  7. Of note: Baseball is broken. Prediction: Vernon Wells signs a 12 year $400 million deal after next season.
  8. How is Grimsley supposed to know that Giambi was using HGH in May?
  9. I'd be willing to bet a number of members of the Guardians in the mid-90s. I'm looking right at you, Albert Belle. Carlos Baerga, Jim Thome, and Paul Sorrento also seem like likely candidates. Eddie Murray, too. Maybe Chili Davis? Mike Sweeney?
  10. He certainly wasn't a failure in Boston. But moving his s***** K rates and awful G/F ratio into the GAB is going to make him a collossal failure in Cincinatti. It's going to be hilarious.
  11. I loathe Bonds. And if its true that he started doing steroids after the 1998 season... then I completely absolve him of guilt. I feel the same way about violence in NHL games. The league needs to get their heads out of their asses and sell the real sport, instead of this ******** posturing when somebody does something like this. After the ridiculousness of McGwire and Sosa in 1998, I'm surprised ANY baseball players were still clean. And how come nobody is s***ing on Luis Gonzalez? Have you ever seen a more absurd career in your life? Career high in homers at age 30 is 15. At age 34, he hits 57. What the f***?
  12. Alfonso Soriano is a dickhead. He'll cave. He's not going to delay his FA another season or lose his 10 million over this.
  13. Puckett is constantly used as justification for other undeserving HOFers. None of Mattingly, Rice, or Puckett should be in the hall of fame, but the idea that Puckett should get more credit for an eye problem than Mattingly should for a back problem is hard to justify.
  14. You're right. Henry only mouths off about the Yankees.
  15. I can't believe its newsworthy when an 80-year-old looney toon like George Steinbrenner says that the team HE OWNS is going to win the world series. If somebody asked John Henry who was going to win the world series, what would he say? The A's?
  16. Sheffield is like Manny. They both have mental problems, but you deal with it because of the productivity. The only difference is that Sheffield has Tourette's, whereas Manny seems to be autistic.
  17. Of note: Ozzie Guillen is still a jerk.
  18. Sardinha needs to do something so I don't kill myself over the fact that we drafted him instead of David Wright.
  19. Daryl Strawberry knocked the crap out of Armando Benitez. It was pretty sweet.
  20. I'm sure he is.
  21. Of note: Ozzie Guillen is an *******.
  22. The Izzy Alcantara Dragon Kick will never be topped. I pooped myself a little when I saw that.
  23. Beckett has a career high of 178 innings. Pavano's is 222, and has thrown over 200 twice. Beckett has been on the DL, what, 9 times in his career? 11? In either case, Pavano sucks, and I hate him.
  24. 1) I sincerely doubt that Weaver will improve his ERA leaving LA and the NL West for the AL West. 2) That isn't an uprade over Washburn giving them 180ish innings of 3.20era ball. For weaver, I suspect maybe 200ip, and close to a 4.50era.
  25. Well, he's like a slightly more durable and crappier Josh Beckett who doesn't strike people out. I want to trade him to Siberia.
