  1. hey sox fan in tex, not a bad under/over now was it....
  2. yeah, it is wake's fault. The guy is what he is, a solid #3-4 starter who can win in boston and against the yankees. Damn, get rid of him...
  3. baseball is funny like that my friend. The only given these days has been Mussina who is 10 for 10 in QS...
  4. you know what would be funny? If all of us expect a high scoring affair and we get a 2-1 pitchers duel...
  5. it does not matter. Youk is your 1b, period. That is the point...
  6. yep, lol. Paps has had a great start, but he wont even be a reliever for much longer. He's a starter and he'll be a good one....
  7. a leadoff hitter who has the ability to walk and then turn that walk into essentially a double is important. The fact of the matter is, youk is a 1b. Prototypical 1b's are power guys, not leadoff guys. Coco is your prototypical leadoff hitter and he'll assume that throne in a few days. Youk is a good player built for starting innings due to his high BB rate, but the same can be said for other 1bs like Delgado or Giambi. Thing is, those guys have the ability to hit the longball on command as well, which makes them more valuable. Overall, youk has done an admirable job at leadoff thus far, but the chances of him keeping it up would not be high. Now the real dilemma, though, is whether to hit youk 2 behind coco and move loretta down. Youk is a more important hitter than loretta because of his ability to get the timely walk, while I think history sides with loretta on getting timely hits. You want the walks and the higher OBP at the 2 hole because he'll get on base, while the timely hits at the bottom of the order are more valuable because they usually come with runners on and the chances of you being brought in to score when reaching at the bottom of the order is lower. So whoever gets moved down needs to be able to get the hit and potentially forgo the walk. You guys have a good lineup, and youk has impressed thus far, but he'll end up as the player that he is, a guy who will hit in the .280-.290 range with high walks and limited power. Nothing wrong with that....
  8. it is may bro, f***ing may. Stupid point from people accustomed to premature assumptions.
  9. that couldnt be further from the truth. Jorge and Unit have actually become friends and the Unit actually talks to Jorge during the entire game even when Stinnett catches. But go ahead and spin it any way you like it...
  10. agreed buddy....
  11. you guys are so funny, lol. JD is integral in beating you guys and now you have to make yourselves feel better. It is may, but go ahead and make yourselves feel better....

  13. I have watched him pull this s*** for too long. Last nights game was a lost cause, as are many games in the reg. season even for the best of teams. BUT, against the Mutts, we had 21 baserunners and scored 3 runs. That says something, and Mr. Dog ended our 2 biggest innings, including the 8th when we had our best chance to tie or win the game and he hit into a DP. That burned. It has been well established that he is a pile-on guy, but the last 2 yrs he has done enough when we needed him to, to salvage his reputation with yankee fans, granted sox fans would give him s*** at the drop of a hat, but thats another story. BUT, this season, when sheff goes on the shelf for 20 games and Matsui is gone till September, ARod was counted on to be a guy who needed to come through and carry us, and he hid on us. This was his chance to really do something. Surprisingly, in the last 14 games (we are 6-8 in those games), our pitching has kept us in it for the most part (aside from last night), and our offense with the personell we had should have been able to get the job done and they didnt. Sheff will be a welcome addition tonight, although his timing is sure to be a little off. May be a good thing he is facing wake. He can lengthen our order and take some pressure off ADog. At least sheff can handle pressure, he is too much of a prick to be affected by it....
  14. Coco Crisp, out since April 9 with a fractured knuckle in his left index finger, took 20 swings from each side of the plate and also ran the bases on Monday. Crisp could begin playing in extended spring training games before the end of the week. Depending on his showing there, he might rejoin the Red Sox around the first of the month. from rotoworld
  15. hahahaha, the prez gets arrested too and is goin to jail. Jack is on a freighter to China...
  16. btw, Jack saves the day, then gets kidnapped by the chinese
  17. ARod showing up when we least need him, lol.....
  18. it also kicks Wily Mo out of the order, a guy who had more RBI than Manny....
  19. it's May bro. Shoot the sherbet early my friend. We have won 10 division titles in a row for a reason....
  20. i was only counting the lineup bro.... We also have Mo and Wang homegrown....
  21. Bernie, Jeter and Posada were bought? I find it funny that you call us mercs when our team has 4 home grown players on it and you only have 2 home-grown players on it. Cmon now....
  22. our lineup is not a "clutch" lineup built on RISP. It is a grind lineup built on power. Having our hitters who are capable of working pitchers into long counts gets them out of games, then we feast on bad bullpens. If you lose two guys who work counts and add in two guys who dont work counts, our lineup can be handled with one horse and a closer. Look at tonight vs last game schill pitched against us. 100 pitches in 5 innings and we broke it open with 3 runs in the 5th after he was worn down. This time, he has 89 pitches through 7. He'll go 8 and hand it off to someone like Paps or Timlin to shut the yanks down. You put in Matsui or Sheff in for Long duck dong and Melky and you get guys who extend innings and up pitch counts. Plus, they make a whole lineup better. Our lineup is not built on getting guys on and waiting for the big hit, and ARod and Giambi are showing that. They are freezing when they are the focus of the lineup. Sheff will help relieve that. He is too much of a prick to care about pressure....
