  1. It would have gotten lost at the end of the thread. As far as being a pissah, well, I do not wish anyone to be injured and I sure dont want to hear the bitching about how Crisp aint in there, so I hope he returns soon. The problem is, the yankees and sox meet 10 more times between now and June 8th and then we dont see each other again till august 18th. Those games are crucial and you will need Crisp there for at least the 4 game set in early june...
  2. I agree. The thing that made the knuckler so impossible to hit was that nobody could predict which late spin it would take and hence it makes guys look foolish. Also, they show the slow mo replays of his pitches coming into the plate and you can see the minor half rotation that the ball makes as it goes to the plate and it moves in that direction. I have only faced 2 knuckleballers in my career, and they werent very good, so I cannot attest to it from personal experience aside to say that a bad knuckleball is like great BP. Something about the lack of spin makes the balls go farther if you hit them flush....
  3. I am gonna go against the grain here. Wake is 5-3 vs the O's over the last 4 yrs with an era in the low 4s. The sox have trouble with lefties and are facing a good one in Bedard. What does this mean? I am calling for a high scoring game. The winner will score double digits in runs....
  4. http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=138120 Overall, the XRays taken show that his bone hasnt healed enough to begin swinging. New XRays will be taken late next week and his timetable has been pushed back to late may/early june....
  5. Sean Chacon vs Kameron Loe Sean Chacon started out the yr with 2 bad starts and 2 bad relief appearances. He has since made 2 stellar starts totalling 13.1IP and 2ER while getting 2 wins. Unfortunately, he last pitched on April 27th and his start was pushed back due to a rainout and Jaret frickin Wright was allowed to pitch on regular rest. Last yr he pitched one game against Texas going 6 and giving up 3 runs getting the win. He has to be sharp against this great lineup. Kameron Loe is a converted starter after being a reliever for a long time. He is a tall, lanky and hick looking mofo with a very good sinker that he will throw often. He has 4 QS's in 6 tries so far and only 9 walks in those 6 starts. He has allowed less than a hit an inning to this point as well. With the offense back to how it should be constituted, we should be able to drive up his pitch count and get into that soft Texas pen. Should be a good one, go Yankees....
  6. Richard Justice is the ESPN appointed Clemens expert, and he has been right on with his situation from day 1. He would be the guy who would know. Maybe he is trying to drive up the price. Maybe the stros are trying to drive the market away. Who knows, but chances are he will be in houston for the yr....
  7. I was always told that the key to a knuckleball is a mild spin towards the end of the pitch to make it dive. A knuckler that truly knuckles the entire time is called a homerun. At least that is what I heard from Niekro....
  8. Bedard is tough and should be a good matchup vs the sox. Food for thought, the sox are only hitting .231 against LH pitching thus far this season. The sox are 3-6 vs lefty starters this yr, but the sox hit Bedard well last yr. He was 0-1 with a 6+ era in 2 starts vs the sox in 2005.
  9. http://blogs.chron.com/sportsjustice/archives/2006/05/20_million_for.html IF this is true, then there is ZERO chance that he returns to the Bronx or to Boston. Oh well, 20 mil is way too much for him....
  10. Mark my words. I ALWAYS go by loss column, and you won't see me sway in that regard....
  11. I go by loss column, so I say we are in first. It doesnt really f***ing matter though, as the difference is so slim and we have over 130 games left. Either way, the loss column is the only way to standardize teams that have played more games. Also, trailing in the loss column means that you require the other team to lose, ie you need help to get back into first. It usually also insinuates that you have played more games if you trail in the loss column, but by none in the standings. If you also factor in the fact that a team like the yankees are playing at a .600 clip or so, and hence they are more likely to win on any given day than lose. Either way, it is a matter of semantics, but you will see me consistently tout the loss column as the sole marker of standings. I usually do not count on the win column for much as far as standings unless the loss column is tied....
  12. 1 in the loss column and percentage points in win percentage.
  13. you do know you are trailing right?
  14. Small isnt ready. He had no location today, and his stuff isnt good enough without the location...
  15. I'll tell you what rician. I wont make that same mistake. I know the history of the game probably a whole lot better than you. BTW, my life is not disappointing at all and to say so is rather funny. What do you do? Seeing as you are counting on my many disappointments, I was wondering how terribly awful your life/occupation must be....
  16. I never said he was a gamer seano, in fact he is a f***ing drippy vagina. But, we do have to hope he can give us something. Wright had two starts so far, but I wasnt very impressed. Small has looked very rusty to this point with his command and he isnt ready to start. Pavano has to be the answer or else we look outside the organization.
  17. Absolutely not. Pavano will come back in a couple week. We should get about 3-4 starts otu of him before we see what he can give us. At the same time, we'll have small out of long relief and will get a chance to see what he can do. Wright has from now until mid-may to show that he belongs on this team. Remember, he can be a FA after this yr.....
  18. take what back? 4.26 ERA and coming off a blown game in crunch time? If you think Foulke is automatic out of the pen against us, you are fooling yourselves....
  19. Yankees Win Thahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Yankees Win!!!!
  20. option proctor? He has arguably been our best pitcher in the pen. There is NO WAY he gets optioned....
  21. btw, we can also play this game with Sturtze, but I think that will depend on when guys get healthy....
  22. Now that Rudy Seanez has proven that no lead is big enough for him to hold, how long do you think sox management will keep him on the roster. Just so everyone has all the info, he is signed through next yr at what I believe is 2.2 mil a yr....
  23. Josh Towers is pathetic. But, so is Tavarez and Seanez....
