    Oh and I forgot the rest.... The next batter was Casey Kotchman who lined one deep to right. Kielty -- playing his first game ever for the Sox -- leaped at the wall and robbed a home run while crashing into the wall, and doubled over in pain. He then got his first Fenway standing ovation on the way back to the dugout.

    Chone Figgins started things off with a single to center, then Julian Tavarez walked Orlando Cabrera. Vlad Guerrero followed with a single to left that Manny Ramirez picked up on one hop and fired home, but the throw was high and catcher Kevin Cash had to jump for it as Figgins slid in easily. Garret Anderson lined out to center, and Cabrera tagged to third. Then Gary Matthews Jr. knocked him in on a fielder's choice. Globe

    The Globe: Jason Varitek gets the start tonight after catching 17 innings in yesterday's doubleheader, and Francona said he plans to give his starting catcher tomorrow and Monday off in favor of Kevin Cash, freshly called up from Pawtucket with Doug Mirabelli going on the DL yesterday. Cash caught Wakefield on a couple of side sessions in spring training, and has caught knuckleballers in the minors. We'll see how that goes
