  1. Amen! So glad he is staying where he belongs!
  2. ESPN's Peter Gammons reported earlier in the day that the Yankees no longer seemed interested in pursuing Lowell as a first baseman and will go with a combination of Shelly Duncan and Jason Giambi.
  3. I just love the bold predictions in November
  4. Lowell mulls option(s) Email|Link By Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff November 16, 07 11:30 PM Mike Lowell may be closer to making a decision on whether he'll play for the Red Sox in 2008, but he wasn't letting on when asked about it at Disney World earlier on Friday. The World Series MVP and his family seemed to have a nice time at Disney World where he served as grand marshal of the Magic Kingdom Parade. Lowell told one media person at the event, "We'll see what the offseason brings. My family and I have a decision to make." The Sox have a 3-year offer on the table in the $36-$39 million range. It's not known whether Lowell has another offer to consider. ESPN's Peter Gammons reported earlier in the day that the Yankees no longer seemed interested in pursuing Lowell as a first baseman and will go with a combination of Shelly Duncan and Jason Giambi. Another possible destination could be the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are balking at giving up three top prospects for Marlins third baseman Miguel Cabrera, though word out of LA is they are now after free-agent center-fielder Aaron Rowand. Toronto general manager J.P. Ricciardi also said Friday that his team was not involved in Lowell talks and Philadelphia, which would appear the best fit for Lowell if he should depart Boston, have repeatedly denied it is in pursuit of the Sox third baseman. Sox general manager Theo Epstein said Friday that talks with Lowell remained status quo
  5. Where ever he goes Cabrera needs to skip quite a few meals, he's heading into to Sidney Ponson Land. Tejada could afford to shed a few lbs. as well.
  6. Uhhhhh....good job Seano, I guess. Has Mike Lowell signed elsewhere and I'm not aware? Love ya bro.
  7. Good point. But most of these guys aren't rocket scientists and/or don't deal with the real world like the rest of us. Jeter hasn't been convicted so I neither forgive nor judge. :dunno: Surely, his trade mark fist pump will make all of this go away....
  8. He was probably talking out of his ass (ha ha) when he said that Definitely NOT a good baseball decision. I'm tired of Sox "fans" (not you Kilo, so don't jump down my fk'n throat) wanting to throw together an "All-Star" team.....doesn't work....not even in the All-Star game! Retire Barry....and thanks for the memories. Too bad you got picked out of all the cheaters out there, but ya kinda asked (begged) for it by being a such a fk'n dick. STFU! God bless and have a great life.
  9. Don't sell your soul Mikey....1st base? Puhlease!
  10. Go Youk? :dunno:
  11. Bad accountant perhaps? These guys don't control their own money, unless they're Curt Schilling......
  12. MIKE LOWELL
  13. He wouldn't love to play for the Red Sox. He loves playing the race card and considers Boston a very racist place. Let me guess, Bonds would DH and Papi would play 1st? No way. Papi is our DH...period. He should retire.
  14. Ridiculous.
  15. This March crap is getting out of control: I posted this earlier today on one of the 2 Japan threads: This Japan s*** sucks.......I went to Spring Training in 2004, 2006 & 2007, wasn't planning on going in 2008, but my brother was going to take his family the week of the 17th. From an article in the Globe today by Nick Cafardo: The season-opening Japan trip doesn't do much for them from a competitive viewpoint. In fact, it really hurts. The Sox will be playing exhibition games in Tokyo against the Oakland A's March 22-23. Then there's a workout day and the regular season will begin in Tokyo against Oakland March 25-26. This basically means the Sox will be leaving Fort Myers, Fla., March 19 for good. This is during the peak time of spring training, when pitchers are beginning to come into their own; when GMs like Epstein are trying to fit the final pieces of their teams together; and when player evaluations are key. In addition, players will have to gear up for meaningful games more than a week before they normally would. The Yankees went through a horrific experience in 2004 when fatigue and the residual effects from their Japan trip contributed to their 10-11 start, though they rebounded to win 101 games and the American League East
  16. Please, tell me you are joking.
  17. Can he please retire now?
  18. I believe he was making a joke. When are you going to change your name to 26-7?

  20. They don't tend to give Manager of the Year to teams with high pay rolls. I think it took Torre a while to get it. Tito rocks!
