I agree, 0 walks tonight is also great to see. Hes just a whole new pitcher this year, and its showing. If you caught the side by side comparison of his windup last year and this year they showed earlier, Beckett really slowed down his motion, and right now he has great command of all his pitches and doesnt try to get by with just the fastball.
I personally still hold out some for him, its been 25 ABs, granted hes looked awful (really awful), 25 ABs is 25 ABs. If hes still like this down the road sometime in May (no the situation is not dire enough that we HAVE to make a move now to dump him) then Ill be worried. It would be an awful move to dump him after 25 ABs and have someone else pick him up and then he wakes up.
Murphy? He doesnt even have a .700+ OPS in AAA, hes not going to be the answer right now. I agree WMP shouldnt be starting but we dont have a choice till Coco gets back so make the best of it.
