  1. Nixon hurt, there is a surprise.
  2. First, after watching the guys on Baseball Tonight, I thought I would bring up this topic and see how people would feel about making this trade. I personally voted no. A few years ago there were many who would of said yes to this trade. Finally, if I get banned for this thread, you should be banned for your atrocious spelling .
  3. With all the talk about A-ROD baybe being traded, would you trade Manny for him during the offseason?
  4. Why do we have this thread? Anyone who has watched the Red Sox this year, they know Tavarez has been turning it around. I think Francona maybe went one too many innings with him.
  5. Grimsley won't be a favorite in the clubhouse. http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/local/states/california/northern_california/14755962.htm
  6. Peter Gammons said tonight that the deal will be complete in the next 24-48 hours. Now that it looks like Roger is an Astro, do the Red Sox go after a guy like Wood? Who would the Red Sox have to trade to the Cubs to get him?
  7. It's funny how there were many Red Sox fans(people on SoSH) who did not want Lowell before and after the trade was made.
  8. Living in Arizona and following Durazo when he was a Diamondback, he was a very good power hitter but the rumors were that he was a juicer. He is definitely a streaky hitter and I don't know if he'll really help the Yankees. He will like the short porch in right at Yankee Stadium.
  9. Rumor out here in AZ is that the Diamondbacks will be shopping Craig Counsell and the Red Sox have been mentioned. Counsell is a solid fielding shortstop who gets on base. The guy always hustles, never gives up on a play, no matter what the score is.
  10. I was wondering if you think the Red Sox and Rangers will play consecutive double headers the next time Texas comes to town in early June?
  11. Let's get back to the original topic of this thread. I would like to know what message boards have been hit.
  12. I think the Astros will sign Roger. The Astros can tell Roger that they will call up his son in September, who would then have the opportunity to catch a game for his dad. The Yankees or Red Sox can't offer that.
  13. Living in Arizona I for one think Nash deserved it. If you looked at the Suns roster before the season began, they had lost three starters from last year's team. Amare was lost to injury, Joe Johnson was traded as was Quentin Richardson. Also, Kurt Thomas was lost in February and has not returned yet. Nash was playing with a team that was returning only four guys from the previous year. Boris Diaw was someone no one heard of before this year because he mostly sat on the Hawks bench. Nash is a pass first, shoot second player but this year he had to shoot more. The results were he scored more points this year than any other, plus he averaged 10 assists a game. If Steve did not play for the Suns this year they would not of even come close to winning as many games. Steve gets everyone involved. Marion and Amare both have said their games has improved since Steve joined the team. Before Steve the Suns had Marbury and they were pathetic compared to now. Players did not like how Marbury was a player who shot first and did not play the team game. It is not surprising to see the development Diaw has made in his first year here. Steve has been an integral part of that. I know the system plays a part in the Suns success but the players have to execute. If Kobe played for the Suns and Nash did not, I believe the Suns would not have won as many games. I might be partial in that I have seen over 50 Suns games this year, but he was my pick. I think LeBron deserved it more than Kobe.
  14. Papelbon is clearly leading the way. If he continues at this pace, he will not only win ROY but the Rolaids Relief award. I think they still call it that.
  15. Let's hope Beckett can pitch like he did in game 6 of the 2003 WS.
  16. Welcome back Doug. Wake is very grateful.
  17. I think he'll be a good pitcher, nothing exceptional. He might be better off in the NL.
  18. I say let Pena play every day until Crisp comes back.
  19. Loretta has been struggling and thought if you think the Sox should look at trading for a second baseman? The Diamondbacks might be willing to trade Hudson or Counsell due to the fact that Stephen Drew has been tearing it up in triple A and could be called up soon.
  20. Another gem by Papelbon. Right now he is the leading candidate for ROY.
  21. I can't wait until Coco comes back. The offense will even be better.
  22. Did any of you guys remember a Red Sox site, I think it was a pro sports.com or allsports.com site that shut down a few years ago? All the teams associated with that site went away. I remember a guy who used to post from England. It was a pretty busy board.
  23. I visit almost all the Red Sox sites and have to say this is one of the better ones. There is not a lot of crap and egos on this site like at Sons of Sam Horn. I visit this site and RoyalRooters the most. How long has this site been here?
  24. I was wondering if you guys think Gonzo will be starting at short all year or someone like Pedroia gets a shot?
