Living in Arizona I for one think Nash deserved it. If you looked at the Suns roster before the season began, they had lost three starters from last year's team. Amare was lost to injury, Joe Johnson was traded as was Quentin Richardson. Also, Kurt Thomas was lost in February and has not returned yet.
Nash was playing with a team that was returning only four guys from the previous year. Boris Diaw was someone no one heard of before this year because he mostly sat on the Hawks bench. Nash is a pass first, shoot second player but this year he had to shoot more. The results were he scored more points this year than any other, plus he averaged 10 assists a game. If Steve did not play for the Suns this year they would not of even come close to winning as many games.
Steve gets everyone involved. Marion and Amare both have said their games has improved since Steve joined the team. Before Steve the Suns had Marbury and they were pathetic compared to now. Players did not like how Marbury was a player who shot first and did not play the team game.
It is not surprising to see the development Diaw has made in his first year here. Steve has been an integral part of that. I know the system plays a part in the Suns success but the players have to execute. If Kobe played for the Suns and Nash did not, I believe the Suns would not have won as many games.
I might be partial in that I have seen over 50 Suns games this year, but he was my pick. I think LeBron deserved it more than Kobe.
