  1. Melky is a nice player but he is not a top prospect at all and they can showcase him all they want. If they don't part with both Hughes and Duncan in the deal they have no chance.
  2. They won't be able to use a bunch of cash in order to use in a trade. They are a significant longshot to get Willis and I would be pretty shocked if they did.
  3. Coco Crisp today got 6 plate appearances in extended spring training in Florida and went 0-5 with a walk and a stolen base.
  4. The Yanks don't the Ammo to get Willis themselves or even Schmidt if they are not going to part with Philip Hughes as a start.
  5. Anyone who listens to those clowns D&C in the morning knows they light up anyone who does bad. The Sox don't have the ammo to get Willis without giving up 3 top prospects which would include giving up Hansen and Lester and one other and thats not happening. All I hear is Willis that and Willis this from you. Hes not worth cleaning out the farm system for. But Mr. Duquette its all about going for it all in 2006 isn't it so why not trade all our prospects for a title this year.
  6. I heard they asked permission to talk to Dayton Moore about running the team as Allen Baird is now a lameduck GM.

  8. Yankees acquire infielder Nick Green from Tampa Bay for Cash considerations and assigned him to Columbus. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2457218
  9. Cla Meredith was a mistake and Jon Lester is much more advanced than Meredith ever was when he was brought up. The market is so thin on pitching right now that the Red Sox will not overpay for average pitchers. I have a belief the problem will have to be solved in house.
  10. If Clement continues to give performances like that then Lester will come up an learn on the job because they are not mortgaging the future for an all out run this year. Clement is awful in the AL and the Red Sox will figure out a way after the 2006 season to get rid of him even if it means eating most of his contract because its gotten to the point where he cannot be salvaged.
  11. The Red Sox will let Lester learn on the job before they clean out the farm system to get Willis.
  12. He won't be back next season. The Red Sox will eat most of his contract to get rid of him.
  13. Nice thanks SFOC for running these contests
  14. Coco Crisp will work out at Fenway Park this afternoon before flying to Fort Myers, when he is expected to participate in extended spring games Thursday and Friday. If all goes well, he will be sent to Pawtucket on rehab assignment for Saturday’s home game with Norfolk. Crisp has been sidelined since April 9 with a non-displaced fracture at base of left index finger.
  15. Well you will be seeing more of Wake because he basically has a lifetime contract and if he eats innings and win 12-15 games a year then he will keep coming back.
  16. And who would you like to replace wakefield with?
  17. Theo is not going to trade any top prospects for a pitcher that is going to go to free agency after the season. It just will not happen plus Zito is not the type of pitcher who I would even consider trading Hansen for.
  18. Groin trouble ends Wright's night early http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/story/420565p-355074c.html
  19. Kelly Stinnett
  20. I have the belief that Lester can be better than Willis in time because frankly I believe Willis is a bit overrated. The Red Sox have no pressure to sell the farm to win it all this year and one of the main reasons Theo did return was that he wanted to build this team for the future with his guys in the minors. (ie Hansen, Lester and others). He did not come back in order to go all out for 2006.
  21. Its no secret that Theo is very high on Lester. The 3 pitcher you named are all overrated. Prior cannot stay healthy and has s***** mechanics. Zito is a soft tossing lefty who is a free agent and Willis is a guy that seems he can be hit now after hitters have seemed to figure him out. There is no chance in hell Theo ever trades Lester for either Zito or Prior and I would bet that he doesn't even move him for Willis as well.
  22. Jorge Posada tweaked a tendon behind his knee, Torre said. He's questionable for tonight. -Boston Globe
