    Loretta is also 34 and Pedroia is 22.....Pedroia has torn through the minors and outside of a few minor injuries and some bad luck his stats look very good. he will make the league minimum while loretta will make between 4-5 mil money that can be spent on improving the starting pitching.

    Loretta is getting up there in age and I don't expect the Red Sox to resign him. Outside of some minor injuries that have hurt his stats a bit pedroia has tore through the minors.
