  1. welcome to talksox
  2. My team sucks as it is and Contreras is not under contract for me next year. I need to get contracts in return for him. He is unlikely to be on my team next year anyways.
  3. I'm in a keeper league and my AL team sucks so moving Contreras now is my best option to play for the future.
  4. s*** maybe i should trade him in fantasy
  5. Hansen tonight against the Rochester Red Wings 3.1 innings 1H 0ER 4BB 2K's
  6. Michael Silverman is reporting it is Holtz up to Boston. http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/redSox/?p=275
  7. I've heard the Red Sox beat out the Braves to sign him.
  8. Actually Wily Mo is 24 years old and he has been playing baseball professionally since age 17 when he was signed out of the Dominican Republic.
  9. Of course players with power potential have faltered. But he is young enough where the Red Sox feel he can be a part of this teams future as this is not a young team. Theo didn't come back in order to mortgage the future to go for the title this year. He came back to see his philosophy of building for 07, 08, 09 and thats where Pena fits in with this team.
  10. Wouldn't trade Pena for Zito. Pena has too much upside for a guy that can be had on the free agent market. He might not be the typical red sox type of player but obviously theo saw something in him that he liked and that is righthanded power.
  11. I don't think the Red Sox are going to turn around and trade Pena. This team has no pressure to go all out to win it all this year. Pena is the Red Sox insurance for next season because I don't think Nixon will be back.
  12. we already have one
  13. That will eventually balance itself out.
  14. Its now deemed official as the Sox will be moving down the dial to WRKO from WEEI. Both stations are by entercom. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2006/05/08/red_sox_to_change_radio_stations/
  15. Has not been made yet and when it does or if its Holtz they will have to purchase his contract.
  16. It all depends on his development. It could be that but it could be less. The good thing with him is he has been using wooden bats for the last couple of years.
  17. MDC optioned to Pawtucket today http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20060508&content_id=1443592&vkey=pr_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos no corresponding move made yet
  18. they must have taken it down then try this link instead....It needs to be played in windows media player myweb.hinet.net/home13/unimo/11.wmv
  19. The Sox have arms but they lack quality arms outside of timlin, foulke, and papelbon. MDC has a better arm than seanez right now and really deserves to get more opportunites than just mop up duty.
  20. Couldn't agree more....Snow to me is useless right now. His stick is not good enough to warrant pinch hitting duties and the way Youkilis is playing right now Snow shouldn't get a lick of playing time. The Sox need more than a defensive replacement which Snow is right now. Choi would give this team some lefthanded power off the bench which right now it does not have any of.
  21. His curveball has movement I will give you that. But when you have no movement on your fastball you are going to have a hard time being consistent. He is a guy that will strike people out but he will mix the strikeouts with a homerun or a few runs and in boston that just is not good enough. He has trouble getting through innings cleanly. As much as I don't like agreeing with Rivernator I'm in agreement this time on seanez. The guy just doesn't have the balls to pitch in boston.
  22. But the fact is he can't. Hitters are going to lay off of his curveball because they know he will not throw strikes. He is a journeyman reliever and was a bad signing by the Red Sox. People think because he put up some great stats in San Diego last year think he will translate that into AL and into a market like Boston. Until he learns how to pitch with some consistency hitters will lay off his curveball all day long and sit on his straight fastball and will pound it all over the ballpark.
  23. If anyone wants to see any video of Chiang....here it is http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=csmc
  24. The difference between him and wakefield is wake's pitches move while Seanez pitches do not other than his hook which hitters will lay off of.
