  1. You're God Damn right my friend----and sooner or later people here will understand you never ever take your eyes off the Yankees, the greedy bastards.
  2. If Bradley is a 20 hitter he will be booed and run the f*** out of town on a rail. He better come through for us. I don't want another Damon gone and Crisp taking his place again.
  3. Dyson?????? Can't hit worth s*** and to elighten you we need a player who can hit and RUN and be able to handle the pressure of playing in Boston. Now that that bastard Ellsbury is gone, give the job to Bradley, hire a good base running coach who can teach him how to run and steal bases and let him know in no uncertain terms that he better f***ing hit for us next year.
  4. Bravo Mark....couldn't have said it better myself if I even had Lincoln's genius on words. Keep our kids. We need to get younger by the year, and sign Napoli now!!!!!!!!!!! Stay away from the Dodgers. They are rotten bastard snake oil salesmen, just like the Yankees.
  5. Come on SFF, wake up!!!!! Winning is secondary to these types. IT IS ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY!!!!!! Now say that 1,000 times and learn from it . If we don't pay Napoli he will leave and we will be up s*** creek without a paddle.
  6. Sorry SFF but you're residing in dream land. Cano will be back with the Yankees. Take that to the bank. Just as I said Ells would wind up with the Yankees, so will Cano be back. As for the injured and loafing Kemp, it would be stupid to trade two of our best prospects in Cecchini and Renaudo when we are trying to get younger and stay away from those strangling contracts. Now if Cano does go elsewhere you can ream me and tell me that I blew it. I wish that happens.
  7. VA, as a favor to you and my other colleagues on board I'm going to take a hiatus for the rest of the night and try and cool off. I don't think I've been this mad since I found out about that chicken and beer escapades in late 2011. All I can do is rant my head off and that does no one on this board besides me any good. Just for the record, you have absolutely no idea how much I hate and despise those MF Yankees. I hated them as a kid in New York and I hate them even worse now as a senior citizen and Red Sox partisan extremist. Have a nice evening and thanks for trying to calm me down. I'm also going to try and stay away from my wife too.
  8. Sorry User, I don't see that at all. Cano is a first rate star and I know he can play in Boston because he has not only played in New York but he has hit the s*** out of the ball in Fenway Park. He is in no way anyway related to Carl crybaby Crawford. Just for the record, what do we do now? Who the hell have we signed that can make a difference for us next season? Reliever Badhop? Catcher and 37 year old AJ? How the hell do they compare with McCann and Ellsbury? We're standing still now when everyone is moving and soon it will be 2014 and as great as this season was I do not want to see a replay of 200-2012 again. Ben needs to make two big moves, and it is not for a friggin' relief pitcher or a utility infielder.
  9. Well VA, if you thought Ells was going to the Yankees too that makes only three of us. How the hell could all the others here not see it. There has been ample proof from past dealings with that rotten MF outfit. Where we disagree is that I think Cano would now be a good fit for us. He could play first or third and be a solid No. 3 hitter in the lineup. Cherington must answer the Yankees with bombs for bombs. We are now weaker than last season while the yanks and Rays are stronger. It is hard to calm down right now. My BP must be going through the roof. Yes Ben did a magnificent job the past year and I am thrilled beyond words about our WS Win. Remember, I was there. BUT....a new season is coming in few months and so far we have let two o ther division teams take the lead. Ben has to start moving right now.
  10. How? How do we upgrade without sending away prospects for a solid replacement offensively for Ellsbury? The fact is the Yankees have gotten better and we have gotten worse. You can fight howitzers with spitballs. Who are we going to get to take up the offense lost with Ells? Bradley? Not next year, not the year after that and maybe never. As I said Kemp would cost us a bundle and from what I've heard the Dodgers don't want to trade him. So we put Vic in CF where he wears out and sign Beltran who the Yankees never wanted in the first place and fooled the hell out of just about all of you save a few of us. We need Cano. This would not be a Crawford signing. Offensively he would be a terrific No. hitter and allow Pedey to go back to the No. 2 hole.
  11. User, rationalizations will not work this time. The Yankees have improved immensely, the Rays have improved and while the Jays and Orioles haven't they are not our main concerns....the Yankees and Rays are, and right now both are vastly improved over last season and we are incredibly weaker. We can laud Ben Cherington until the cows come home and we can't do it enough for what he brought us this season but that season is over and we have to look at what coming in 2014 and right now we are much weaker. We need a solid player to take Ells' place and that guy is Robby Cano. He would make up for the loss of Ellsbury because he is a better hitter with more power and he would f*** up the Yankees. I still have faith in Ben but he has to start moving and doing it tonight.
  12. So it doesn't bother you even a twit that the Yankees once again pulled the wool over your eyes and just about everyone on this board save Mark and me. You can cheer and clap for that son of a bitch all you want but I hope he breaks both his f***ing legs and breaks down into a physical wreck. I am about as pissed off as I can be and while some of you say we shouldn't make a move for Cano I say the hell with it and do just that. Itt is the only way we can counteract that. Kemp will cost us a lot of prospects and he has become a human MASH unit. Cano will only cost us money and we have a lot of it. Sign him God Damn it, sign him!!!!!! And sign Napoli tomorrow as well.
  13. But you had to know he would go to the Yankees because the Yankees said they weren't interested in him. I am really surprised that so many of my colleagues here are so naïve as to believe the Yankees wouldn't sweep in and snatch Ellsbury. This is the Damon thing all over. They get Damon and we have to replace him with an inferior player.....and I don't want that f***ing Granderson on our team either. It would Damon gone and Crisp here all over again. That means Jackie Bradley better play his f***ing ass off next season or he'll get his ass booed out of the park. He better f***ing hit and steal a lot of bases for us and if that's not his game he better study up on it.
  14. This is what the Angels out here did for years---held onto their prospects, many of whom never made it, and they never got back to the WS and still haven't. It is time for Ben to get on the stick. Our opponents have enriched themselves and all we have to show for it is some reliever named Badhop and Piezysnki. Now God Damn it, sign Napoli and make a full court press for Cano. Take him away from those sons of bitches. We cannot let the Yankees once again push our noses in the dirt.....and one more thing my fellow Red Sox fans here. Wake the f*** up. Never ever ever ever ever take your eyes off the Yankees. Don't believe a f***ing word they say because they are a pack of treacherous bastards and the salary cap means s*** to them. They want to win and now they have McCann and Ellsbury. They must not get Cano. Take him away f rom them. He can help us because he is a great hitter and we now need another LH slugger. Get him. Ben, get with it. Time to wake the hell up.
  15. f*** Kemp!!!!!! Get Cano and fit him into our lineup. f*** those Yankees any way we can. This is war!!!!!!
  16. Right again!!!!!! I said it User. Watch the Yankees; always watch those sons of bitches. Never believe a word they say. They had no interest in Damon. Remember? They had no interest in Teixiera. Remember? And they appeared to have no interest in Ellsbury. Right!!!!!!! They are a bunch of lying sneaky bastards and they love to rub our noses in the dirt, and they always go on a spending spree after we win a World Series. I don't remember who the other guy was on this board who said that Ellsbury would wind up with the Yankees but we were right on. Not that it took brains to figure this out. We only had to know the Yankees and I have known them and despised them since I was seven years old. I hope Ellsbury breaks both his f***ing legs, the disloyal and treacherous bastard.
  17. Dollars to donuts Bellhorn, I'll bet the Mariners are once again dealing in ********. They haven't the balls to make such an offer and if they suddenly got hair and did Cano would be dumb and dumber to accept an offer from that second rate outfit.
  18. Everyone seems to talking up Christian Vazquez and is defense seems to warrant it in droves, but we have to keep in mind that he is not known to be a very good hitter at all---at least not at the present time, and Red Sox front offices have always seemed to want a catcher who could hit. I hope Vaz gets off to a good start at Pawtucket next season and shows he can swing the bat some. Of course I remember when Yadier Molina couldn't hit either, so they said. Development and experience are great teachers, and we still have Blake Swihart only a year or so away from Vazquez so we still have another good young catcher and this guy can hit. Looks good for us behind the plate and that is why Ben was smart with a one year contract for AJ. No blocking of our young players.
  19. Well let me tell you something Dirt Dog. We were a pretty hated team all along and fans from other teams were LTFAO at our demise late in 2011 and were roaring with delight at our misery in 2012. They never accepted the fact that we were no longer going to "know our place" as lovable also-rans. Now they really have something to hang their misery on......coming back from near death to rule the baseball world. And to paraphrase Denis Leary.....YOU OTHER FANS, WHETHER I KNOW YOU OR NOT, KISS MY ASS.
  20. Me too Ted----with one exception. I want Napoli signed as soon as possible and for a Christmas present we resign Ells as well. Now get this....barring unforeseen circumstances I will be going once again to the Red Sox's Home Opening Series as I did in '06/ '07. '08, '09 and '11/ Missed the others but it is how I will be going. One of my closest friends, Fred Repke, a top scout for the Rays (yes Rays) has some good friends who scout for the Red Sox and he's assured me he can get me tickets for that series with Milwaukee. The guy used to play ball for me and coach with me and I have never heard him deal in ******** so I'm taking him at his word. I am looking forward to seeing that banner dropped from the Green Monster next April. I still have this feeling that I'll wake up and see that this season was just a dream.
  21. You're right.......up to a point. I didn't like it when that hip condition was discovered at Nap's physical but I never said I didn't want him on the team. In fact, I really wanted him to get that three year contract and just take the chance he would be fine. Well he turned out to be fine but I wasn't the GM and I can understand Ben's consternation about getting a damaged good player. Nap was big for us this past season and I hope we do not low ball him and drive him away. He is great fit for our team.......and I have the best source of proof sitting right next to me.......my wife Linda. She loved Napoli and was really chapped when the Angels sent him away. He was a leader and took charge of things when and wherever he played. Man, I wish we sign him as soon as possible so I can exhale.
  22. Well if that's true it certainly passes muster with me User. I do know he calls a good game, has been with winners and has a pretty potent left handed bat. What I like more is that neither Vasquez or Swihart will be blocked when their time comes and we can have two good catchers on the same team unless Swihart is moved to another position because of the potential of his bat. Now guess what we have to do next?
  23. And by the way, wasn't there some choice negative words aimed Nievas' way on this board and other boards? Yes, there was and I was one of them. Juan did a hell of a job with our pitchers this past season and maybe someone should give a nod or two. Good news hearing that he endorses our getting AJ. As for Salty, thanks for the memories and please turn out the light before you leave......and Good Luck to you. After all you were a part of a terrific season we will all remember for the rest of our lives. I sent away for the 2013 World Series DVD and I'm waiting impatiently for it to arrive. It will make for some real viewing enjoyment.
  24. Out here in LA, the Times quoted Dodger GM Ned Colletti as saying he isn't going to trade any of his four outfielders, so that means Kemp is staying put along wth the selfish Ethier, the goofball Puig and the moaner and complainer Crawford....making for one unhappy ******* of the bunch each game. I say resign Napoli and Ellsbury and I think we can make a strong move towards a division title and a run in the playoffs next season.
  25. Ben knows what he's doing with a short contract....that's a plus. But what kind of guy is this? He was hated by his Giants teammates in 2004, and there was cheering all around when he left that team after that season. I have no record of his relationships with his teammates in Chi Town and Texas, but he has won before and maybe that might trump some other things. I know only this, though. We cannot have a problem of sorts in the clubhouse next season. We were perhaps the most united and spirited team in baseball this season and while that isn't everything it sure counts for something.
