  1. We ought to take bets on these two guys since there seems to be some division of opinion on Rubby and Webster. I have never been a fan of those two and have said so. Delarosa is suited better for the bullpen but he is a pitcher who can drive you nuts with his inconsistency. He was that way with us and when played out here in LA. You're probably right about Webster if he does the things you suggest he does. Either way I don't think we'll miss them at all. What we get from Miley is another mystery but I liked the trade so long as we put a good infield defense out there for him and Porcello, both effective ground ball pitchers.
  2. 74 shitface!!!!! And I don't use Viagra and don't need it dickeweed and I don't have dentures you pot bellied slob. Your post shows what a piece of s*** you are. Get lost. This board will survive without you, and for the record this forum is better than ever. We have real fans, Red Sox fans, on this board and not a bunch of whiny front runners who are taking their candy and going elsewhere. And take that Cub avatar of yours and shove it up your ugly fat ass. And now I will put you on ignore....this time forever. f*** off you loser.
  3. And Fred never had that bad experience you're talking about at Dodger Stadium except when the Dodgers won the few times I even went there. Please note...I HAVE NOT ROOTED FOR THE DODGERS SINCE 1957, THE LAST YEAR THEY PLAYED IN BROOKLYN. SCM believed that s*** those *******s on that old Dodger Blues board told him because he is gullible and narrow minded He wants out, fine. Good riddance. Anyone who deserts the Red Sox earns my undying enmity. RED SOX RULE AND THEY WILL RULE AGAIN!!!!!!! I wrote a nasty retort to that jerk's personal attack but deleted it. Not worth my time. Let the guy go root for the Cubs. He'll come back and the more I think of it the more I realize he wrote something stupid that he will regret.
  4. More work has to be done? Hey my pal, a LOT MORE WORK HAS TO BE DONE. We also need a couple of bullpen arms and right now they are falling off the line in record numbers. Neschek, Bastardo, Gregerson and that Yankee closer....ALL GONE. Get busy Cherries. You work has improved but there is more to be done....much more.
  5. No D-money. What that guy does is always take the party line and supports whatever the front office dispenses. Just keep reading his garbage and you'll see for yourself. I have the guy on ignore but can't help when some one has one of his quotes in front of their own missive. I don't know who you mean by the other u but I've been dueling User for the past three years except for the latter part of 2012 and this year when his support for the front office and some of the players he loved came a cropper and he disappeared from the board.
  6. If he said that he's full of s*** and no Red Sox fan, writer or media person should allow him to get away with talking crap like that. We need both a No. 1 and a No. 2. Cut the crap Cherries and keep at it.
  7. Kelly has had some control problems. Pitching as a starter you can get by with three walks or so. As a reliever it could be a catastrophe. Kelly to the pen is ******** a dumb suggestion.
  8. Just tune in for a minute mvp. Rollins was just traded by the Phillies and they now need a shortstop. We have now gotten two ground ball starters in Miley and Porcello. This might be the time to trade Bogaerts as part of a big deal for Hamels, the No. 1 pitcher we need badly in my opinion. Yes, there are those who say X is a future superstar. I do not believe it anymore; in fact, another bad season and his market tumbles the way Bradley and Middlebrooks has. The Red Sox need to trade this guy now while his potential is high and the Phillies would bite on him. We could get a SS in a trade or put Holt there. We need solid infield defense for our new pitchers and with two good ones on the right side of the infield we are halfway there. At third Pablo fields everything at him but does lack range and Bogey doesn't have the range or the fielding ability. No Holt? Laugh at this if you will. Sign Lowrie, or, hold on tight, sign Drew. Yes that piece of crap I was denouncing all year. With a ST he would be better than he was last season. No Holt, no Drew, give Marrero a shot. If the Phillies ask for him as part of a Hamels trade we should snap at it fast. Betts and Swihart are non starters.
  9. CP, please take it from me......Rubby will never be the pitcher some here thought he would be. He hasn't the brains or staying power to be anything but a mid-reliever and Webster is a total fraud. We will never miss them and most likely both will be traded again and again until they are out of baseball within five years.
  10. I could live with that rotation Chief. We would have two decent pitchers who know how to compete and win at the top of the rotation and I think Kelly is a vastly underrated pitcher. I saw how he took it to the Yankees the next to last game of the season and with improved control he might be the surprise of the team. Miley could be f ine, but I like Porcello better and I hope we got him as rumors suggested. Put him in instead of Miley or Buch and we could win the AL East next season.
  11. So is De La Rosa. He was s***** for the Dodgers, and while he improved some for us with a few good outings he also had some terrible ones as well. That's his history and being from LA I saw him enough a few years back to know that when things got tough he folded like a tent. He's back in the NL where he belongs and out of Boston, and thank God for that. As for Webster, I have even less to say about him except good riddance. He's a loser.
  12. Gotta admit things look better today than they did yesterday. We got Porcello, a solid No. 3 who could morph into an average No. 2 if does pretty much what he did this past season, but to me a trade for Hamels and a signing of Shields is of paramount importance to the success of the club in 2015 and somehow Cherington has to make it happen.
  13. Owens would most likely need to go for Hamels but under no circumstances would I trade Swihart or Betts in any deal. The former is a top flight catcher who can hit and hit with power and can play another position or two and Betts is our new catalyst. Don't laugh but I wouldn't hesitate sending Bogaerts packing in such a trade. I know I'm leaving myself open on this but I really believe this guy is a counterfeit whose value might plummet like Bradley and Middlebrooks did.
  14. I like the deal a lot. We have now a solid No. 3 man who might morph into a half decent No. 2----but I still want those two pitchers, authentic Nos. 1 and 2. This was a trade that had to be made, and while on the subject of trades glad to hear Masterson only got one year and that he might wind up in the bullpen. His season this was s*** on a roll and he has trouble with left handed hitters which would negate that weakness working out of the pen. OTOH, if he shines in ST and starts the season off well he still might crack the rotation since Buchholz will rupture a tendon opening his bedroom door in early May and be lost to us for the year. Just imagine what could have if CB got his head out of his ass, bore down and gave us the kind of season he was having the first months of 2013.
  15. I would take Miley over Rubby or Webbie any day. Now we have a plethora of three and four starters. Time to start working on getting that No. 1 and No. 2. Open that vault Prune Face and also prepare to part with some young players not named Betts and Swihart to get us those pitchers.
  16. Because the front office says he will be a key for us and the ball washers among us are already drinking the Kool Aid and rendering homage to Prune Face and his merry band of idiots.
  17. Gee MJ, that ought to get us back to the World Series next year. Masterson and Buchholz and Kelly as our anchors. And you wonder why I and some of us here keep bitching. We still haven't signed a top notch pitcher and we still have Cespedes who needs to be traded.
  18. Well if that's what he trying to do CP I have a suggestion for pruney. Throw some of the ******** he and Lucchino have been dispensing at that wall. The smell would be terrible but they would then feel right at home.
  19. But what have they done for us lately? As the old saying goes.
  20. And if he had any balls, Cherington would be saying to them...."You two guys f***ed this Lester thing up. What is your plan and how much money or prospects are you willing to expend to make us a contender next season.....or do you want to keep screwing up like the two f***ing losers you are? Of course he then would most likely be on borrowed time but he then could go work for Epstein as gofer or something.
  21. Mr. Cub Fan?????? It's 95 to 5 in that regard and I only check to see how they do if the Red Sox lose (which we did too damn much this season to suit me...or you). If the Cubs win I get a smitten of satisfaction and need that my friend. Tell me this, do you get up in the night for your nightly pit stop and then walk the floor cursing because the Sox lost the game that day and are told by your wife to get the hell back to bed? But I learned something about you the last day or so. Despite our differences in the past I'm more like you than you think.
  22. Good Spud---don't miss a spot either. As for more mundane things, I still demand the team get the pitchers to help us win the AL East next year and get us into the post season. Call me selfish for wanting it but after the totally s***** season the team gave their fans this year I believe we should be entitled to a complete comeback in 2015, and, no, I do not want to wait until 2016.
  23. Chief, I will not try to counter what you just wrote but it does strike me that you are trying to give succor and cover to the front office and this is the fear I have that others will follow suit and do the same. Henry and Lucchino blew this one badly. You don't let your ace walk and then in the fall sign a totally defensive disaster like Ramirez to play a position he has never played before. Now if he hits 35-40 homers, hits 315 and drives in over 120 runs, well we'll see.
  24. I said maybe mvp---I think some will be bitter towards Lester for leaving but I am not and never will be. This is all on the front office. We'll see how our colleagues take to Lester leaving the next day or two. My friend Dupree is pissed off at Jon for le aving and I would think there might be others too. I have enough animus towards Henry and Lucchino with else to spare for Jon or anyone else. Since the Cubs are the team I follow in the NL I'd rather Lester sign there than with the God damn Yankees or God Damn Dodgers. Still, I wish he would have come back to us.
  25. I still want Hamels my friend but I think you're suggestion might just work. Cueto is No. 1 and Porcello has shown improvement and G allardo is a good pitcher. Latos? No thanks!!!!!
