  1. True, but I'm just saying I haven't met as many fairweather Sox fans as I ahve Yanks fairweatehrs, and I live in Boston.
  2. Yeah, plus I just don't like Verderjagt. ORS, I agree, I have fath in Bill and Pioli as much as anyone, just there's no reason why they shouldn't have signed Vinatieri.
  3. the dolphins are definately up and coming, and if theyre going to stand a chance next year they need Culpepper in his pro-bowl form. I do agree the Pats need to do something fast and need to find good replacements for all theyve lost already.
  4. I don't get it, why would they trade a 15th for a 29th and then trade it to NY.
  5. yeah, comparing the Yanks fan base to Sox Nation is ludacris, half of your fans like your team because they always won in the past (fairweather fans) and a Sox fan emanwhile, has had to go thru 86 years of suffering before seeing the glorious day when we won. Not saying there aren't good Yankee fans (like the ones here) but I know pelnty who can't name more than ARod and Jeter.
  6. do we want to lose evryone to free agency? we haven't done anything but lose players and met with one guy I think.
  7. Yeah, of course we can't just throw him there, I'm talkin over time
  8. Verry good point, I totally forgot ABs. Man, I mean just add that to the list of things that'll help him succeed: -Learning from Papa Jack -Watching Papi and Manny -Developing as he is only 24 -Spending time with better coaches -etc. I mean the good points keep goin on and on, it'll be ahrd for him not become something. On a side-note, he has played 1 game at 3b, could we possibley set him up as Lowell's replacement? We'd get the power we'd have gotten from Marte, and we could open up a OF spot for the future.
  9. I'm not worried too much about Burnett, but it wouldn't hurt to have him hurt. Halladay is who scares me, we lost to them without him and they added offense.
  10. yeah, unless your well built like Rogah Clemens chances are you'll start to feel the wear and tear.
  11. This will be a difficult project for Pap Jack, it'll be interesting to see what he changes mechanically in Pena's swing, and to see how he progresses discipline wise.
  12. Taggy was a great commish who led the game in the right direction, while the other 3 went the opposite way. He made it more competitive, more enjoyable, and far more interesting to watch,e evn if its not your team.
  13. Yeah, just read it, I was basing what I posted off of what I saw on like teh 1st page. Also IMO its an ******* move because he has given us all the respect he can give and has been loyal to us, and then we trade him, but he did have it coming sooner or later, and his agent warned against it. As for the Damon thing it takes waay too long to explain and as I stated earlier, I won't get into it. I've stated many times my opinion on Damon, so it is already known how I feel about that.
  14. I agree a lot with what Alexanderthegreat said at the begining of this thread. It is kind of an ******* move by the Sox to trade a guy who has given us loyalty and a discount for us. It also would be very hypocritical to say it's a business now and then crucify players who leave us. However this is different for the JD situation, which I won't get into. On a more relevant note, I really like this trade. He's a good 20 HR hitter and he's only 24. However I do agree he needs to be taught some plate-discipline and could be great with work from Papa Jack.
  15. that was just off of who I named first outta my head. However, it also shows how deep we are pitching-wsie, I mean we have 2 aces (Schill, Backett), 2 could-be 2nd punches (Wake, Wells), and the rest #3s in some rotations (Arroyo, Clement, Papelbon).
  16. Well, because of Bradley, UNC losing, GTown beatin Ohio St., and Wichita St. goin on this run i got 42 outside of this contest. However Memphis should stand a better chance of gettin to the Final 4, with Bradley and UCLA/Zags in their way. BC's real task is againt Nova, and then against the winner of FLA/GTown if they win. UConn should be able to get to the Final Four, I have no worries about them. And Texas is lookin strong goin into the 16, and hopefully can beat Duke if LSU doesn't, which I have slated in my bracket.
  17. I got UConn, BC, Texas, and Memphis. I'm really nervous about pickin Texas out there but I have a feelin they can beat Duke, and LSU also has a chance. Also BC is really dependan on their defense, and the game tempo, if they turn it into a half-court game, and somewhat stop Nova's guards, they'll have a chance.
  18. Yeah, I agree, one starter needs to be traded by Opening Day for him to get a starting rotation spot, and my money is on Clement. He has obivously leapfrogged Arroyo, but Clement has done everything to assure at least that he's returned to form. Schilling Wakefield Wells Beckett Clement Papelbon Arroyo
  19. Yeah, I have no idea why anyone is taking this negatively, like "oh, he wont amount to anything, he's got nothing left, etc." this is good that we're getting all the possible depth we can get at nothing prices, I mean Juan isn't a no-name and we got him to a MLC, I mean we could have a 20 HR threat in AAA, and if he does amount to nothing, no problem, we let him walk, nice try. Now we have 3 potential replacements for Nixon in Juan, Mohr, and late Kapler.
  20. I disagree, Papelbon proved last year he can win starting and relieving, he is ML ready, if he needed to hone anything that was a bg issue he'd be in MiL camp and not here. Also you cannot judge a player from how he performs in ST, who knows maybe Arroyo will be nails in the pen. His and other pitcher's FBs are getting launched because they are using that more and working on it's command, velocity, etc. just like Beckett.
  21. Wow, that's crazy, I guess it's because it's the first year college was put into it.
  22. Well, every game in there is winnable, only one I'm worried about is Lopez and Lilly, just cause he gives us a hell of a lot of trouble sometimes.
  23. Yeah, how can't you hate him, he basically backstabbed the team and it's followers. I eman yes he had many good moments here but he thinks we didn't give him respect? We treated him like a God here and made him the poster boy of our clubhouse. But if he wants to piss it all away for 3 mill a year then I say screw him.
  24. He is? What is it? Like last year rosters? lol
