There's no need to bash Millar at all... The Red Sox have the best offense in all the major leagues, Millar is batting .272 with 7 HRs and 45 RBIs... on most teams those are decent stats... to prove my point, lets look at the stats for the starting 1st basemen on the teams that are in the playoff race in the AL...
Oakland: Scott Hatteberg: Avg: .271 HR: 6 RBI: 49
Yankees: Tino Martinez: Avg: .243 HR: 17 RBI: 48
Angels: Darin Erstad: Avg: .281 HR: 4 RBI: 54
Guardians: Ben Broussard: Avg: .258 HR: 14 RBI: 49
Twins: Justin Morneau: Avg: .239 HR: 18 RBI: 64
White Sox: Paul Konerko: Avg: .271 HR: 32 RBI: 82
So he's not quite as good as Konerko, who is the best hitter on the White Sox... and you could argue that any of those other guys might be better, but they aren't going to be significantly better... and no he doesn't have 15-20 HRs, but he's with them in RBIs, which anyone with much sense knows is more important than HRs by far and away...
So feel free to say you wish Millar was doing better, or wonder why he's not doing as well as last year, but seriously he doesn't suck... he's just not Manny or Ortiz...
