    Your missing the point. This isnt about the Red Sox not giving Damon the big contract. I dont care about that. The point is that Red Sox fans were killing Damon for going to the highest bidder. Then you have Bronson Arroyo who took a discount too stay and he ended up getting traded regardless.

    yeah but dont you think its a little hypocritical to call it a business decision for the Red Sox but in another thread just kill Damon for going to the highest bidder. That was just business too. (I dont remember where you stood on the issue but this is for the people who called Damon a traiter for going to the highest bidder then praise this move by the Red Sox after Arroyo gave the Sox a discount to stay.

    Talk about loyalty. Now I think you guys should know why people like Damon go to the highest bidder. Its because of things like this. Arroyo like an idiot took a hometown discount and they ended up trading him anyway.

    I agree, I think MLB needs to look at that in the future. Maybe make the last 2 rounds best 2 of 3. Korea only lost 1 game the entire thing and it turned out to be the 1 game they couldnt lose.

    I put zero stock in wonderlic tests. Donavan McNabb scored like a 12 on his test. Same with a bunch of others. s*** Dan Marino scored a 12.

    How about getting rid of the all-star game(which is stale anyway), cutting out a couple of games during the regular season(Make it a 2 week thing) and have it during the all-star break?

    Then Torre will be out of a job. Theres no way Meyers will face righties(on any kind of a consistant basis) and the only reason why Embree started to face righties last season (Outside of the Konerko HR) was that he was ineffective against lefties so he became the mop up man. The only way Torre leaves Meyers in against a righty is if he has great numbers against them.

    Ah I said that in my post already but the fact remains you cant put someone in the HOF based on what the MIGHT have done.

    Yeah but I can also say Don Mattingly's final 6 seasons were a result of his terrible back problems. What if Mattingly retired after 1989 because of his back problems? Do they still put him in because he might have reached the HOF magic numbers? He didnt play the 10 years needed up to that point but the arguement still holds do you put someone in the HOF based on what they might have done?

    That turned out to be such a waste. I thought Nick Johnson was a good ball player the problem with him is that hes always hurt.
