  1. You pretty much nailed it.
  2. Damon blasts another one into the upper deck.
  3. BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!! THE YANKEES HAVE FINALLY RETIRED TOMAS PEREZ
  4. 3-2 on a Damon blast into the upper deck.
  5. Lidle is a FA at the end of the year. Anyone have an idea of what type of FA he will be? (Type A, Type B etc).
  6. Apprenetly sometimes when you swing and miss it doesnt count as a strike out anymore. 2-2
  7. According to Buster Onley Abreu will not ask that option to be picked up.
  8. I expect Sheffield back. Matsui is more hit or miss.
  9. Usually in a salery dump you dont get much back. It sounds like the pitcher is Matt Smith btw.
  10. From what I heard its C.J. Henry and another low level prospect. Nothing big at all IMO.
  11. ESPN is reporting the Yankees have reached a tentative agreement for Abreu.
  12. To be honest I dont care about losing Duncan. He has no future with us. However the Clippard part does bother me.
  13. I think this will be the most active trade deadline in years. With the deadline only 2 days away the GM of the Phillies has already lowered his demands for Abreu. That makes me think that he would like to unload Abreu's contract by the deadline. My gut feeling is there is way too much smoke surrounding Abreu for a deal not to happen. Betemit was already traded to the Dodgers so we lost out on him.
  14. You guys have to get a little more for Coco then just Vazquez. Considering you guys gave up Marte for him.
  15. That was one hell of a start yesterday by Wang. The D-Rays never had a chance. I dont watch the D-Rays much but what the hell happend to Gomes? He got dropped to the 8th spot and hes hitting .220.
  16. Niemann just got his first career victory just the other day. Its a damn shame that all of the Rice trio have been hurt. Humber just came back and is pitching well. Jackson suprised me. I remembered all of that hype when he was with the Dodgers.
  17. If I were they O's considering how pathetic they have been I would ask the Angels for Brandon Wood and Santana. Shoot for the stars now and if they dont bite then trade Tejada in the off-season when you could have even more teams involved.
  18. Its quite sad cause they have developed some pretty good position players. Outside of stealing Kazmir from the Mets they have zero pitching. Maybe they will find it with a guy like Niemann but they do need more pitching. I guess if they used that revenue sharing money they might be able to find some.
  19. Its quite amazing. I read this quote before I went to the stadium tonight and then I see Greg Norton playing RF. It makes no sense what so ever. Do they honestly think that they have a better chance winning games with Greg Norton playing RF over Young?
  20. While Young shouldnt say anything he is kinda right. The D-Rays are going nowhere. Why are they fooling around with Greg Norton when they could give Young a chance? It sounds like they plan on moving Upton to 3rd. Why not trade Wiggington to a team that needs a 3B (Padres) and call up Upton. Because of the many outfielders they have they could deal Dukes for some pitching.
  21. Wild game tonight. Giambi took Torre's head off the chopping block.
  22. I can agree with that. Nelson was really a very good set up man. Hes very underrated among Yankees during that 90's run.
  23. Its intresting cause I was reading some reports and when he reported to camp last year he was throwing only 88 MPH. I assumed it was because of the CWS and overwork. This year his velocity is up to 93 and that sinker has been very effective. I think he will be solid however I think the Yankees do have a very good reliever prospect coming soon and his name is Mark Melancon. They drafted him in the 8th round (I think). He slipped that far because of some arm injury he had and because he fell that far some thought he would try and increase his stock by going back to college. But it sounds like the Yankees are going to sign him above his slot price. This guy has a Mid 90's fastball with a big power curve and slider.
