Because he played a good thirdbase and had equal to better offensive numbers than ortiz. Simple as that. It doesn't have that big an impact, but to say people are pro yankee is absurd. Almost as absurd as what Ortiz said.

Somehow you guys have been brainwashed into thinking all the MVP is all things are equal except for offensive stats. Record doesn't matter, position the play doesn't matter, all that matters is that they have the most homers and RBI's. Well I'm here to say there's more to it than that or Ortiz would still be a lock.

LOL, no. Everybody hates the yankees and everybody includes sports writers who vote. There's definitely an anit-yankee senitiment with sports writers, and if you don't see that, then you're just as ignorant as Ortiz.
