    I don't see why not, he used to be a starter, Hansen was a closer in the minors I believe. An extremely shallow rotation gets deeper and don't lose that much in the bullpen.

    Well in his defense, it could have gone either way. I don't have a problem with it being called an error, but I would understand it being called a hit too.

    With Wakefield likely going to the DL, it's time to put Papelboner in the rotation and make Hansen the full time closer. It's the only logical thing to do outside of giving up a ridiculous amount for a big name starter. Outside of Zito and Willis which will cost an awful lot to get, there's not much out there.

    He's still only made 17 starts, which means we don't really know what kind of pitcher he can be. The fact that it's over 2 years is what makes him a bust, I'm not denying that. But you can't deny that Theo made an absolute s*** trade that f***ed you guys over this season. WMP is gonna have to do alot better than those numbers to make up for what you guys lost, and recently he's just been a version 2 pavano on the DL.

    Unfortunately for the red sox, all these remaining games will be played against AL teams.

    Oh I see. So you can judge Pavano with only a few starts, but you can't judge WMP who only played a few games? Uh, something doesn't add up. Sorry, there isn't that big a difference between the AL and NL, maybe he wouldn't be piching AS well, but he'd still be a solid number 3 guy. Face it, if you had him, the AL East would not be a race. When you lose something big, and get basically nothing in return, it's called a bust. And it's too bad this writer failed to see this.
