  1. Well, Hansen also has a dominating sinking fastball. That was his best pitch in college, not his slider. His slider has become very nasty recently. I think Hansen is a can't miss prospect. I think he will be up early in this season and he will impress. I think that Delcarmen is one piece away from being the same thing, and that piece is first pitch strikes. If he can come up to the big leagues and get ahead of hitters, he is said to have the best curveball in the sox organization, thats a vicious combination with his fastball when ahead in the count. If he developed a good third pitch, he could be successful now, because you can't fight back against hitters once you fall behind with only two pitches. I don't know enough about martinez but I did hear that they thought very highly of him and those numbers are amazing. Thats impressive.
  2. Wow, yeah isn't he the converted catcher who can throw through a brick wall?
  3. Tim Worrell isnt as good as some of the other options out there like Eyre and Taveras or the top teir guys like Ryan and Wagner and Hoffman
  4. Well the sox would have to give up a little more than wells to get javy, but yeah its a possibility in a three way. San Diego could send Arizona a prospect and dave roberts maybe and recieve David Wells, and Boston would get Javy and maybe send a kelly shoppach or abe alvarez if the deal needs anything else to get put away. I heard right now though that san diego would be willing to do a dave roberts and prospect deal for Wells right now. I don't see why not Javy is good but this won't be a randy johnson type of deal. Javy wasnt the headliner of that deal anyways, it was the prospects.
  5. Yeah, i think manny will be back in Boston as well, but depending on what they get i wouldnt be to averse to trading him. but ichiro for manny doesnt make sense for either team if thats the entire trade.
  6. Yeah, we probably arent willing to give up what it would take to get a helton or someone of that calibur which is why an Aubrey Huff is so atrractive to me. Good production without the price tag.
  7. I was just saying that because someone said he would get something like 3 years 15 million. Its ok, i know he would get a lot of money.
  8. Manny would get 3 years and about 30 million but hey, small differences.
  9. I wish the mets would do wright and milledge, that would make me very happy but I don't think its realistic.
  10. I know there was speculation hanley would move to center just because he is such a great athlete, but i didn't know he ever actually saw anytime in center, i thought it was purely speculation.
  11. It isn't 8-9 next year, its more like 2, I think they signed him for four million over two years in a very insentive laden deal, its not about the money with boomer. He wants to play some where else, or hang 'em up, i believe.
  12. I dont think Bucholz and Ellsbury are untouchable at all. I think Sanchez is. And yes, the phills would definetly sit thome, DFA him, or trade him for next to nothing. They won't ever trade Howard because their asking price would never be met. I hope the sox don't offer Sanchez, its not worth it. Ace pitchers are hard to come by and this guy could be one, I'd rather take my chances on him then trade him for a power hitting first basemen that come a dime a dozen.
  13. I doubt it, I think they will stay in house and i definetly think bowden would come here, I'm a huge sox fan and i know that if i ever got a job offer as the yankees GM i would take it in a heart beat. Its really not this big divided thing like everyone thinks, Yankees players and Sox players respect each other, and talk off the field. Baseball people are baseball people. He wouldn't turn down a job cause he knows George. I think hes good, and I'd like him to come here a lot, but I also think that staying in house and keeping the same philosophy going that we've had would be ideal. I think we will end up staying in house.
  14. But doesn't Durazo also play first base? We wouldn't need to make room for him by trading manny. You could put arroyo in a package with manny but i think manny has plenty of value on his own and that wouldn't be needed really. I think that arroyo might be best served staying where he is or being the center piece of a trade for a first basemen if they can't sign one. I don't know if any of that made sense, i have mono and im reaallly tired right now, so if it didn't im sorry you read that.
  15. wait what about trading manny and arroyo? Durazo sure thing, but I didn't quite get your post, carter. But yeah I like Durazo enough, good player but is he an FA or is he signed through 06?
  16. Well, its an upgrade offensivly from burroughs, even though i love burroughs.
  17. Kevin Towers is out, I love Jim Bowden, Hunsicker is out too and i loved him as well. Those were my top three, Bowden i guess could still happen, i don't know much about Forest, but he sounds intruiging. I keep hearing that they are going to stay in house with this on EEI and such. I don't like Depodesta. Anyone but him.
  18. I really don't think so, but we'll see. Its definetly a possiblity that A-rod wins it, all i can say is that if I had a vote it would go to Ortiz, regardless of whether or not hes a red sox, if he got traded last year to the Guardians and had a season like this I'd still vote for him over A-rod just because I think the season he had is the exemplary MVP season. This is what an MVP truly is. We'll see because A-rod does have big numbers and he will get votes. A-rod was my pre-season pick for it, I just think Ortiz had more of an MVP type season.
  19. It could, i think it may, i dont know if A-rod will win it or not i think its going to be very close. I think the only way A-rod wins it is if some jerk leaves Ortiz completely off the ballot and its a tie and A-rod wins because of that.
  20. I don't think he will hold out if he isn't traded, but I think Boston is more fed up with him then he is fed up with Boston. Hes just a whiner, he wants to see that people want him here and reconize his worth, so he cries every now and then gets babied and then plays baseball. I think its time that they seriously shop him and explore all their options, but they'll see its not worth it probably.
  21. old news, that manny wont report to spring training if he isnt traded.
  22. Why would we give up arroyo and shoppach? We're giving up manny. Let the angels supply the prospects.
  23. Why not trevor hoffman for a couple of years as a stop gap until Craig Hansen can take over as closer. Have hansen setting up for two years learning the ropes.
  24. Well I think that he has to do that. Remember how many people came out and said the yankees weren't trying to get Randy Johnson last offseason before it became blatently obvious? The Angels want Ramirez and they're going to try hard to get him, so that being said, theres definetly something to these rumors, Byrnes has to say that to make sure that incase glaus doesn't get traded, he doesn't have a malcontent on his hands. Theres probably something to the rumors.
  25. I would take the Angels deal only if Ervin Santana was included.
