  1. Stern is a good hitter, I was mildly comfortable with him at the plate just then. He just didn't come through. Cora I am not so comfortable with at all.
  2. Wow, looks like Alex Cora in the f***ing two spot is really gonna pay off here with the bases loaded. Nice job terry, you're an idiot.
  3. Probably DiNardo. I think this is good news. I'm glad to see fatty out of the rotation.
  4. Yeah, does the lineup have to be this drastic? I mean, I'm not going to include Pena's name in that bunch but christ, not a lot of pop in this lineup. I miss coco
  5. Lester and Pedroia is a no go for me.
  6. There has never been a 38 year old who won 20?
  7. Yeah, he was awful, but I don't think I want to wait around for Wells to lose games for us while he sharpens up.
  8. I understand that, Mr. Theo, but the thing is, its likely he won't be getting anyone out. Thanks for acting as the final authority on all things Red Sox though, we needed someone to do it.
  9. Youkilis is a very good first basemen, I've been pleasantly surprised.
  10. Or better yet, Charles Manson at a vegetarian convention? Eh? I don't know what I think about dealing Lester for Willis. I think if the deal were Lester, Delcarmen and say... Brandon Moss, I would be ok with this. I draw the line at pedroia. I heard talk show hosts today saying that the deal would be Pedroia Lester and Hansen( after june) and they seemed to be ok with this. Calm down, that is a rip off. A potential ace, with a great infielder, with a potential bullpen ace for a guy who has had one ace season along with two seasons in which he had miserable second halves. I think Willis is very very good, and I would trade Lester for him. I would not trade our entire future for one guy. I don't care if that guy is Johan Santana.
  11. Agreed, but I think the same can be said for Wells. He will get pounded. Dinardo will probably get the spot until Papelbon is eventually stretched out, provided we don't get Clemens.
  12. Ok, I want to make an official Clemens watch thread. I think this rotation has a slot open in it and if we fill that spot, the way we play defense, the bullpen we have, and the bats we swing I think filling that spot with a Roger Clemens makes our Red Sox the team to beat in the AL. David Wells, in my opinion, is all done. His control is shaky, his knees are shaky, and I hate watching him pitch because he is so morbidly obese. Thats besides the point. I just read this on ESPN insider: Now, if you look at the Sox right now, and compare them to the other two teams in the hunt, which team would benefit most from another starter? Think about it, I'm not asking which team needs one more, I'm asking which team would be more over the top with a starter like Clemens. The answer is really hitting you in the face. I'll give you a clue, for the rivernators out there, they don't wear pinstripes, nothing on their uniform is blue, and they play in fenway. With Schilling and Beckett being legit aces, Clement and Wakefield would round out a very solid rotation if there were a legit # 3. Granted, either Clement or Wakefield are perfectly capable of filling that slot, an ace like Clemens in the middle of that rotation really would be interesting. Clement will be nothing short of solid this season, I truly believe that, and I think this rotation as is, could be one of the best if we got a fifth starter in there ( I'm rooting for papelbon to be stretched out in the event that we don't get clemens) Regardless of whether you like him or not, Clemens is an ace caliber pitcher and putting him in this rotation is s***-your-pants scary.
  13. So he's what, 78 more saves without blowing one away from the record? Lets go Papelbon!
  14. I cant wait to see Papelbon pitch.
  15. I feel secure now in our rotation. Curt Schilling has just made me smile from ear to ear for the first time since... well since Beckett flipped out on the mound because hes a beast. I love this.
  16. Uhh, manny has had hits this year...
  17. I have to say, I really wish Manny would just break the silence and belt a monster homerun and stare it down with that trade mark glare that he gives when he really kills it. Stare it down like the pitcher punched your little sister.
  18. anyone think maybe lowell will assume the role of 5 hitter? He's been hitting very well.
  19. Yeah, agreed. Nice try though. Schilling has been very good thus far and so has Beckett. With Wakefield being Wakefield, Clement had one bad start but don't sell the farm on him yet either. He'll have a solid season. Its the fifth starter I'm concerned about.
  20. potentially loading the bases for ortiz? not a silly play.
  21. Mark Loretta makes a nice turn. Not just saying that becaus Im pumped at that play, he does turn that play really pretty.
  22. Was coco ever officially put on the 15 day DL?
  23. Can't strand runners and expect to win a game. Give schilling run support, doesn't look that he will need so much.
