  1. Am I "dissing" Timlin? No, not at all. Just got the names mixed up that's all. I've been hearing Embree's name a lot now and I don't watch the Sox everyday so I jumbled the names. Brain fart, again, my bad.
  2. Oh, ok. That must have been what I heard. Either that or Kay doesn't know what he is talking about...does he ever? :dunno:
  3. Oh jeeze, you'll have to excuse me, my bad. I meant Timlin !!! :dunno:
  4. Well who else would you have used? Maybe Bronson I guess, but then you have a major hole, he has been pretty good thus far.
  5. Schilling should be the Sox number 1 starter, not their 9th inning go-to man. It's not his role. I think the Sox were stupid in their decision to make him a closer. They should have given that to Embree and given Schilling enough time to get his endurance and arm strength and whatever back because Schilling is a very powerful force in any starting roataion, especially in short series in the post-season.
  6. I'm not sure, but rumors I have heard say that since this is the last year in Cash's contract he will just walk away. It's a hard job and I wouldn't blame him for walking away, but he has been the GM for 8 years, I believe that is the longest tenure of any Yankee GM, and I don't know how much I would trust switching gears .
  7. boston is a great city. a very clean, smaller version of nyc. just spend your time walking the streets of boston, maybe you will bump into a d-rays player.
  8. Of course I know there are other teams besides NY and Bos haha. The spoilers like the DRays are going to have a huge impact on who gets into the post season this year. The way I see it, there are 4 teams trying to get to the post-season with only 3 positions. LAA, A's, BOS, and the Yanks. One will win the Wild Card, and two will win their respective divisions. One team gets left out. IMO I don't think the A's will stay so hott and I think they will be the ones left out, but baseball is a fickle game and, to quote Yogi, "It ain't over till it's over."
  9. Hey, there's no rest for the weary. You have to play the best to be the best. The Yanks will take a no lose mentality all the way up to the last game of the season, and I think that will benefit them in the post-season.
  10. Give it a rest. It's pretty sad that now everyone assumes that a player must be on roids just because he is hitting the ball hard. Yes, Giambi is the root of that mentality, but just because he had a good July and is now slumping doesn't mean he was on them and now is off of them. Steroids, by the way, don't effect how well you hit the ball. That's hand eye coordination and being able to see the ball, which Giambi definately does considering he has the league leading OBP.
  11. That's stupid. The most die hard Red Sox fan might live in New York. I guess they are trying to avoid an incident that would be similar to that lawyer trying to re-name the Fleet Center "Derek Jeter Center" for the day. God forbid a Yankees fan enters Fenway Pahhk!!!
  12. I can't imagine them sending down Small. What kind of sense does that make?! Send down Embree for goodness sakes, not Small.
  13. Do you have a link where he said that? There is absolutely no way Small should be going down to AAA. He saved the game two nights ago going into extra innings because I don't trust anyone else to come out of the BP and throw up scoreless innings. Small and Chacon have been nothing short of outstanding and although it doesn't look like it did in the beginning of the year, the starting roation is shaping up at just the right time. All the Yanks need is Jaret to be as good as people say he will be and I'll take a rotation of RJ, Moose, Jaret, Small and Chacon into the post-season (if they get there) with some confidence.
  14. lol don't we all. i can't see any of the posts unfortunately, but i'd love to be able to read what they are saying.
  15. lol, you are quite a fan of seeing what those bozos have to say, aren't you YS013
  16. Me too. It's make or break time. I wouldn't be surprised either way, but I really hope they can gain some serious ground and get within -3.0 games before they play the Sox.
  17. I'll quote you on that.
  18. Wow, those Yankees "fans" are ridiculous. I would post some other quotes, considering there are a plethora of them over there, but I was IP banned because I got in an argument with a good for nothing ignorant fool. Oh well, good riddance.
  19. Yes, it would. He was rushed too soon. Judging him on his performance, or lack there of, in CF isn't fair. He will be much better in 2 or so years.
  20. Here is what the Yanks could get rid of: Kevin Brown $15,714,286 Bernie Williams $12,357,143 Al Leiter $7,241,931 Tom Gordon $3,750,000 Felix Rodriguez $3,150,000 Alan Embree $3,000,000 Tino Martinez (Team Option) $2,750,000 Ruben Sierra $1,500,000 John Flaherty $800,000 Rey Sanchez $600,000 Total: $50,863,360 Flaherty will be back as long as Johnson is, and Sierra will probably be back as well. As for the rest of them, they will probably be gone. MAYBE Gordon can stay, if he doesn't choke in Sept again. I'm not worried about Johnson. He has a better ERA against over .500 teams than he does against under .500 teams, and I'm not worried about seeing the Royals in the play-offs any time soon I would be confident, believe it or not, going down the stretch with Johnson, Moose, Wright, Chacon, and Small as starters. I HIGHLY doubt Wang will be back, but if he does come back, that would obviously give the Yanks a strong 1-2-3 punch with RJ, Moose, and Wang, making short series easier to win.
  21. Yes and the Yanks have Hughes, Cox, Cabrera....Nomo In all honestly, I don't pay attention as much as I should to the farm system, so I can't really talk about it. All I know is that Cash is trying to hang on to the guys down there until they can work their way up. Last time the Yanks brought up a couple guys from the farm (Jeter, Rivera, Posada, Bernie) they were the backbone of a dynasty. So we'll see I guess. :dunno:
  22. Where exactly was I being cocky? You don't know me. Just because I am a Yankees fan does not mean I say at the beignning of every season, "The real season begins in October." or "It's not a success unless the Yanks win it all.", because I don't say that. I am realistic. I am not saying anything about what I think the Yankees will do in the rest of the regular season or the post-season. I just think some of you are certain that the sox will stay as hott as they are now and clinch the AL East in a couple weeks without a problem. It's not over at all. I mean, imagine me saying that the Yanks were back in full force when they won 10 straight games and then 15/17. A lot can go wrong real fast, that's all I'm saying. The Yanks aren't a perfect team by any stretch of the imagination, but all the faults you listed that the Yanks have could go just as easily against the Sox as well. Your ace is now trying to be like Mo, you had one of the worst BP ERAs for a while there, your defense lost your team a game against the Twins a couple nights ago, and jeeze I thought the Yanks didn't have any minor leaguers to bring up either....but have you been paying attention to Robinson Cano lately? Or what Wang did when he was pitching? And to whoever quoted a YES poster...yah, that was a YES poster. That board contains some of the worse excuses for Yankees fans I have ever seen. :thumbdown
  23. You guys are really being a little too cocky for your own good. Don't forget the Yanks and Sox have a few more head to head games, and I do believe the Yanks are winning the season series thus far.
  24. Well as a matter of fact AL LIETER got the win in tonight's game
  25. The Yankee pitching was great in that series, giving up only 3, 2 and 2 runs. Also, the Yanks should have won the game in extra's because the Ump made a s*** call on what would have been, and should have been, the winning run of the game. Yet again an Ump screwed the Yanks. The Yanks lost a series to the DRays when they were stinking up the joint. I'm fully confident that the Yanks will be able to win a series against them now. And please, do you honestly think the Royals will sweep the Yanks again?? And Moose is our ace, but Small and Chacon have been consistently giving the Yankees chances to win, Small went 3-0 in his first 3 starts and Chacon got 2 ND but the Yanks went on to win both games, in quite crazy fasion if I might add.
