  1. I dont think he was planning on being jealous of CMW's ERA
  2. DFA SMOLTZ, GET BUCHHOLZ UP
  3. I have a hard time drafting someone who hasn't experienced anything above high school pitching
  4. MDC and Ramirez can go for 5 or 6 outs
  5. They've been right in terms of who they have let walk most of the time so I'd give them the benefit of the doubt all depending on how they replace him.
  6. I find it a bit odd that they used Masterson last night then
  7. and why would they sign the guy when his value is at its peak? I personally think he'll skip town anyway though
  8. what are everyone's expectations on what kind of line we'll see from Smoltzy tonight? I'll start: 5 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
  9. but if Canada is America's hat, what would that make the DR? America's colostomy bag?
  10. I dont think any conclusions should be drawn one way or the other by tonight's performance, unless he leaves with a shoulder injury obviously *knocks on wood*
  11. neither was Stephen Strasburg when he was picked, the issue's been discussed already
  12. honestly, I love your country and I've had some of the best times of my life in your country.
  13. the argument that DR is better than Canada is valid? rly? any country that has chickens walking around freely is automatically disqualified from arguing superiority over another country.
  14. pffft, go spend more time building a case for that guy who bashed the other guy over the head with a coconut
  15. in the appropriate thread perhaps...
  16. didnt realize this but there was a bit of a fuss earlier this year over how bad of a road team the Sox have been. They're up to 19-17 this year after starting 11-16
  17. Yea, but his .776 OPS at home this year won't silence any of his detractors who call him a product of Coors Field
  18. It's not, and I think it should be held as a knock against the organization. Either way, right now he's developing into the pitcher he will be for the rest of his career and if the FO wants him to go through with the added adversity that comes with the constant changing of his role, well then it is what it is. His secondary pitches haven't developed the way they probably should have by now since he only needed to be a two-pitch pitcher as a reliever.
  19. My point is, for a guy who was used as a starter for the vast majority of his baseball career, his spike in walks in the bigs shouldn't be written off as something he's going through cause he's getting used to the concept of starting. He's figuring out how get big league hitters out, just like all young pitchers.
