  1. no way this lineup is putting up 5 runs tonight anyway...a bunch of meh hitters with a very meh Youk and Bay in the heart of the order
  2. and theres the floodgates
  3. how did a goblin like Youk get a hot wife like that? (rhetorical question, yes I know its cause he's a ballplayer)
  4. so Green at 2B and Lugo at SS I guess.....what a disgusting lineup
  5. yea but I have a hard time blaming the FO for that since it's 100% injury-based
  6. these lineups are starting to look like 2006
  7. Fallon said this in 2004 when promoting Fever Pitch: Doesn't sound like he's a huge fan of any team either way
  8. ^^^it's a very valid theory considering the last thing the editor would want is for their paper to get blacklisted by the player and/or loyal teammates
  9. San Fran has money and isn't that bad of a team, I see no reason why they'd trade one of their best young players As far as Theo goes, there are a lot of moves he doesn't make that piss me off (see Mark Teixeira) but not getting A-Rod in '03-'04 is maybe the best non-move in baseball history and in the end, his direction has lead to 2 titles in 5 years to go with 2 ALCS Game 7 appearances and only one season without a postseason berth. His pro scouting could use some work (Jeff Suppan, Eric Gagne, Edgar Renteria, Julio Lugo) though.
  10. Evan Longoria, Nick Markakis and Josh Hamilton
  11. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/allstar09/news/story?id=4307180
  12. Career OPS April - .909 May - 1.008 June - .798 July - .872 August - .869 September - .887 not worried
  13. just got home, saw Francona took Papelbon out after a 10 pitch inning....nice
  14. see, this is where I dont like Francona. When he leaves Wakefield in the game so he has a chance at his 11th win so he can get into the f***ing ASG
  15. Wake is s***ing the bed against a couple of guys who came in hitting under the Mendoza Line...not good
  16. so here's a question, if a first round pick like Fuentes gets 1.13 mil as a bonus, what right does someone like Renfroe have in asking for 3.5 mil? is he a better prospect than Fuentes and just dropped because of his bonus demands?
  17. seeing as I was 3 years old in 1986, 2003 is still the most heartache I've ever felt as a sports fan
  18. No Bedard on Saturday, Olson will pitch instead
  19. Savard not being invited is a snub considering even Andy McDonald was invited But Wideman has/had no shot at making the team anyway
  20. the one single moment that always comes to my mind when I think about that series was Damon's Game 7 grand slam. That was the moment I exhaled and knew the series was in hand
  21. No, but when I read "Baseball America's John Manuel says Daisuke Matsuzaka and Contreras are fair points of reference for Chapman.", it raises eyebrows cause those two were major league ready when they came over to the US. A guy armed with just a fastball isn't major league ready. Hell, even Strasburg sounds more developed than this guy.
  22. 5. It was immediately after 9/11 when NYers could've really used the emotional lift
