As this is a world renown rivalry, it deserves a contest befitting its stature and the quality members of our site. First, I want to thank Stocker323 and Yeszir for their inputs and guidance. This contest is based on the upcoming Red Sox/Yankees series : May 1 & 2, and May 9-11. Here's how it works : ---First : Red Sox Total Wins - Wrong picks eliminated - winners move on. ---Second : Red Sox Total Home Runs ( HR ) - Wrong picks eliminated - winners move on. ---Third : Red Sox Total Runs Scored - This is the tie breaker in the event that ties haven't been eliminated by the first and second criteria. Some Possible Outcomes : I assume that in a total of 5 games, more than one person will pick correct number of Red Sox Wins and move on. These winners must then have the correct number of Red Sox Home Runs ( for the series ). If there is no one with the correct answer, then a winner will be chosen by the tie breaker - Red Sox Total Runs Scored. If there are 2 or more winners after the first two criteria, then again a winner will be determined by the tie breaker Red Sox Total Runs Scored. Damn right. At this point , a sarter ( even a good one ) can have an effect on 20 something games. But a really good closer may determine the outcome of how many ? Hint: its significantly more than 20+.

My thought is this. Until recently, the umpire's call stood as made, unless overuled by the head umpire. However, recently there has been a trend of several or all umpires discussing a controversial call. How much more of a stretch would it be for the Head umpire to have the replay as a tool available to settle a questionable call ? Obviously, not for balls or strikes, but for those plays where the umpire didn't have a good angle. When those umpires are discussing a call I'm sure at times they're talking about who actually saw the play and what they actually saw, and at times it's not totally clear. Unfortunately, a call right or wrong must be made. Replay would allow the umps to have another chance to correct a call with better data. For you "purists", please don't tell me about it would ruin the game. Baseball is about tradition, statistics, evolution, and entertainment. How many rules have been changed over the years ? The argument about technology changing the game is bull. Didn't the Cubs just play day games ? Radio was the way to follow a game. Instant replay on television and at the park. Radar guns, how fast is this guy pitching, is he tiring ? Computers for saber stats ? Rules have also been changed. How about the DH, height of the pitchers mound, the baseball, etc. Marketing has been changed. Double headers have been eliminated, unless caused by rain outs. Week day games are ( except for get-aways ). Day games are now for Sat. & Sun. with the cavort of TBD. This has been done for broadcasting, not for the fan convenience. Speaking of which, most people have pay money to a service if they want to watch their team. These are just a few of the many ways baseball has evolved to what it is today. Like it or not, this trend will continue and at some point in time replay will become part of it.

Basically, they ripped out the 406 Club and the glass wall it contained. They added extra seats that are wider with more leg more. This was then called the EMC Club and its own restaurant, rest rooms and wait staff. They also did the same thing to a large portion of the infield Roof Boxes. They are now called Pavilon seats. The seats are box, Club , and SRO ( standing room only ). An interesting point about the SRO's in the Pavilion is that they actually have designated areas with waist high shelfs ( kind of like a bar ) that you can lean against and put your beer and munchies. The cost is I beleive is $20 for SRO tckets. Hope this helps.

Wells is going to do what he wants, he always has. You and I are about the same age, and we both know that there are things that we can't do ( or at least as well as we could as we used to ) when we were younger. Well's will determine in mental & physical state and make his decision. The defference between the two, is that Roger ( who also thinks of himself first ) , has never demonstrated the abilty to dominate in the play-offs. I loved Roger when he first came up and the next few years. But he sucked in the play-offs ( at least with us ), and came in overweight and sucked in the next few years. He was paid as a # 1 and produced as a # 4 or #5. He has never produced in the clutch. He'd be a great addition for a struggling team with poor attendence, but that is not the case with the Sox. Roger is not coming to the Red Sox.

He was attempting to slide feet first. However, his cleats caught and caused him to got head first. Must be that "bad" infield that Renteria was talking about.
