  1. He wont be traded. His annual salary is a bargain for his upside, plus the Sox shelled out 51M just to say hi to the guy. Bullpen? No, unless he is mop-up duty, and our pen is too good right now to carry that position. On almost every single baseball team, there are at least 2 relievers who should not be in the big leagues, the problem with Boston is that they have too many guys who SHOULD be in the big leagues, no reason to waste a bullpen slot for him. DL, maybe.....assuming he goes along with the plan and it doesnt backfire on them. I can see them DL'ing him and then Dice-K coming back saying hes fine and he doesnt understand why they are treating him this way, hes a weird dude. The other option is letting him work it out in the BIGs, and I think thats the safest route right now at least. Over the last 2 years, his starts are ugly but you cant argue against the finished product. Every pitcher has a different style of getting wins, DiceKs is just more unconventional, you really cant argue against the numbers hes put up over the last few years. 94 walks last year, thats a shitload.....but when you win 18 games and have a 2.90 ERA and .211 BAA over 30+ starts, its hard to call that a fluke. Some guys pound the zone with strikes, some guys throw junk, some guys throw knuckleballs, some guys throw submarine......Dice-K chooses to nibble, and in Japan he was highly successful doing so, and for the most part here, he has been too albeit at the expense of our patience and aggravation.
  2. He is so frustrating when he had performances like this, because you know hes capable of hitting .270 with a .340 OB and the ability to steal 30+. While its encouraging, I will be disappointed if they option out Green bc of Lugos contract. BTW...what happened to his speed?
  3. Well, looks like we are encountering a typical Papelbon save experience.
  4. Love the taunts.
  5. ill say again, Ortiz is looking better and better. Solid contact.
  6. i ate 2 cheeseburgers tonight, at some point I sense a solid dump.
  7. tell you what, I love the aggression I am seeing in Ortiz right now. Hes not locked in, but I think hes close, we havent seen this behavior in him all season long. Hopefully a solid rest of the season.
  8. wow, that sucks.....he really had it going again....... solid
  9. Sox make a solid pick: http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?topic_id=4961152&content_id=4521017
  10. Eck taking a solid dig at Dice-K....heh
  11. Im going with an infielder, since they have a guy in the minors, and the trade rumors with Texas.
  12. In this weather....dead center, he crushed that thing.
  13. Crushed....absolutely crushed.........awesome sign.
  14. Yeah, banging Keith Foulkes wife was a pretty good attitude problem.
  15. Dice-K is starting to rub me the wrong way. http://www.weei.com/sports/boston/red-sox/rob-bradford/2009/06/08/five-things-we-learned-future-red-sox-starters-didnt-g He basically says, the team told me to pound the strike zone with fastballs, didn't allow me to pitch the way I want to pitch, and this is what happens when I'm told how to pitch. His stubbornness is starting to bother me along with the 5 hour games he pitches in and the fact that in June, we are saying his s***** starts are "OK" because this is his "spring training". Its ********, we paid a shitload of money just to talk to the guy and then reward him with a huge contract. Shut up, stay loyal to the team writing your paychecks, and do what you are told to do.
